Don't speak too soon!

But that volley for Dimi, on 30-all, was a hard one to make. Great pass by Rafa, getting it low...

Rafa makes the serve-forehand combo look routine...again! ;)

And just as I predicted Dimitrov loses the set 6-3 :p Must give a lot of thought to going back betting! :)

Grigor always gets a set off Rafa on hards, but (fortunately) can't get the W.

Two big mental tests in a row for Nadal: Rosol and Dimitrov, with both going 3.

Rosol was always going to be a tougher opponent.

Would prefer to see Gabashvili against Nadal than Cilic. Reckon the former would pose more of a threat these days.

Neither are remotely good (Dimitrov or Rosol). I'm not sure why people were talking about a tough draw here for Rafa.

Well, two matches going to a final set suggest a degree of difficulty... :popcorn

Everything's relative. Tough for Rafa isn't the same as tough for Novak, Roger or Andy :p This court is pretty fast and a breath of fresh air after the slow Asian courts. Any guy capable of good first strike tennis and who also has a good serve has a good chance here. Rosol fits that description pretty well but having said that, I doubt he'd have posed anywhere near the same threat to either Novak, Roger or Andy. Rosol is a difficult match up for Nadal and hence why it was indeed a tough match/draw for him. Well, the last match anyway. Dimitrov was never going to win and shouldn't be much trouble to anyone good. He's losing to everyone these days.

That is only because Rafa is on a decline, which you will not admit. He barely scrapes through against very inconsistent players.

They suggest Rafa's playing like a clown

He's not, though. Sure, he started slow both times, and he's not as consistent as he used to be, but the Incline is actually still in effect...

Which would still support the idea that it's a "tough draw" (if what you said was true :p )...

Rafa always has used to start slow and then he turns on the motor, when he was #1 and now too
By the way, I'd like to know what kind of "tough" opponents Federer has in this tournament......:snicker

No doubt! They really gave Nadal a tough draw in Basel! It's a conspiracy! ;)

No conspiracy, I think the crowd of Basel wants to see a Roger-Rafa final and more now than ever because Rafa is not playing his best :D
