^That's what I'm hoping for. If you look at the last few seasons.. Novak wins two in a row, then Roger wins two in a row. His turn! :)

To be honest, I think he was still coming to terms with his new style. Just a shame that Wimbledon came a bit too early. He was forced into too many longish points, and his forehand was shocking. He played as poorly as in 2009, but wasn't able to get away with it sadly. I knew the game was up after a few games in the 5th

I wasn't disappointed with how he played at Wimbledon overall, except the 5th set. He just didn't step up and played an all around passive 5th when Nole had to be reeling after losing the 4th set. All in all Roger's game was excellent except the forehand and ROS. Of course those are big things and ended up costing him.

^Yes that's fair. One thing about Roger that doesn't get talked about much is that he is so alert to mental letdowns. As Novak said after his win, he knew that if he showed any sign of nervousness he was dead. Sometimes Roger just needs to go for it (a la Rafa) instead of seeking the killer opportunity. You can't always expect the opposition to slip up. You gotta make it happen!

There are only four players common to the current bunch and last year's bunch. That is a huge
change in the landscape.

The ladies championship was the same exact order, it didn't matter much...

I guess all that's left before it starts is to see where Tignor's Hex lands... :popcorn

Tignor is probably burnt and won't venture into jinxing anyone.

Perhaps, you should add a poll to this thread to get a feel of what folks think as to who will win.

People mostly vote for their favourite player which is just plain dumb when deep down they don't even believe it. The WTA polls are the worst example of this. For the record I don't do this and always vote realistically.

^ Djokovic. The guy hasn't lost a match indoors in two years, and no one is going to stop that run next week.

I didn't vote..who I think will win ?..I don't know, its pretty open if you ask me, djokovic prob favourite, but murray could burst through and win a big title, Federer might win, why not milos ?..it could happen..i dunno. the others ? could be.

I think a tennis player will win. that's really sticking my neck out e.t. style.. and its prob gonna be a bloke who wins, unless one of the players is going to spring a surprise and turn out to not be a bloke but a recently transmogrified being..umm. yeah.

I think Murray is my outside shot, if Djoker or Fed don't win. I think that Federer is stretching himself thin - his extraordinary capacities withstanding - and Djoker may suffer a lapse, but Murray shown great attitude and form since the USO...

Voted for Nishikori.

I think he has the most potential outside Novak and Fed and those two might be a bit too invested in the YE#1.

Who is the most unlikely candidate?

I am voting that!

Lopez. But he's not on the list. So you should probs pick Berdy or Stan.

The one day gap is very important.

Fed gets a day off between his last RR match and SF match.

It may not be important for Novak, but it will be for Roger.

Finally, Fed's SF will be the first match (assuming he gets there) on Saturday and
so Fed will get a 6 hour advantage over his final opponent.

Go Fed.

6 hours - to make up 6 years. It shouldn't happen, but I admire the fact that you're not playing cute with your prediction...

After the RR Fed will have the whole week off, don't worry about his rest. ;)

^ He shouldn't be awful enough to not qualify for the semis. At worst he should go 2-1, there are no great players he is facing.
