Cilic just missed the Paris masters 'cos of an arm injury. Clearly you'd rather have a guy not 100% in your draw than someone physically fit. Novak's draw worked out just fine for him. Roger's given Milos a major confidence boost with that win in Paris so now Milos may be more dangerous. Mind you different surface but still, confidence boost like that having never beaten the guy before helps a lot.

This is the Masters; you can lose a match and still take the title! I didn't say it wouldn't be difficult for Roger, but he has an opening with newbies in his group and a breaking down, defensive counterpuncher who's about "punched" out! :nono

The conventional wisdom among folks is that WTF surface is identical to that of the surface in
Basel and both are quick ones in contrast to the surface at Bercy which is different and a little
slower.

However the the Bercy Tourney Webpage claims that since 2012 their surface is identical to
the surface at WTF (and since 2008 they are using the exact same balls as those in WTF).

The Bercy courts appeared little slower while watching on TV and/or streams. But,
Bercy Tourney claims that because of the painting of the courts and the balls used,
it becomes a better visual experience for spectators. I was wondering whether the feeling
that we got (slow courts) could be an illusion to the "better visual comfort" provided.

Anyway, if the surface at London O2 is not quicker than at Bercy, I don't see Roger winning.
On the other hand, if the conventional wisdom is true and the courts at London O2 is indeed
quicker, that would give some advantage to Roger.

I have tickets for Thursday evening season, any guess who might be playing? Hoping its Fed's half playing that day. Also hoping to see Fed or Andy (or both), will be a bummer if they schedule Kei Vs Raonic for that session:cover

This is how the scheduling works:

1st RR match: Pits the top ranked guy in the group with bottom ranked guy. The other
two mid-ranked players play each other too.

2nd RR match: The two winners of the 1st RR match play against each other. The two
losers of the 1st RR match play against each other.

3rd RR match: At this time, each player has only one opponent left and they play with
that opponent.

If you have a ticket for Thursday, the only thing that can be said is that you will be watching Group B players play. Beyond that even the organizers cannot tell you at this time. However, once you know the results of Sunday's matches, you can immediately say as to what the match ups will be on Thursday using the above tips (no need to wait for results of Tuesday's matches).

Nishikori worries me a bit but at worst Roger should be 2-1 if he turns up ready to go. This is not a good surface for Murray vs. Roger, actually it's not a good surface for Murray vs. anyone really. As long as Roger doesn't serve poorly vs. Raonic again he will take care of him this time.

The only thing I wonder is given the point disparity if it makes it more likely that he will have DC in the back of his mind. Realistically he doesn't have much hope for #1 now.

I think Roger's put the length of time at #1 out of reach in this lifetime! Well over 300 weeks, I didn't think it possible; women yeah (not Serena), not the men! :dodgy:

I think the consecutive streak will last longer than the total streak. The consecutive weeks at #1 streak might be the toughest record of his to break when all is said and done. Nole and Rafa haven't shown an ability to hold it more than a year straight by comparison.

Even though Harbaugh QB'd my Chicago Bears years ago, he so offends me with his attitude! This season's a true blessing to the people that can't stand him; including Schwartz who coached Detroit Lions a couple years ago! :lolz: :laydownlaughing  :dodgy: I can still feel that backslap! :lolz:

You never know, Giants might mount a come back.

For a real comeback, you have to show the ability to stop the opposing offense! They might have to get Strahan to suit up to accomplish that! :nono  :clap

Apparently the Giants are banged up on defense, I am just learning that, after I picked them to win tonight. :lolz: You can join us in the Football thread of the Sports section, Fiero. I need somebody who knows a little bit about football (which is more than me anyway) to give me tips.:D

Well since this is officially an NFL thread I will say it's the injuries to the Giants offense that's the problem. No Cruz, no Jennings, no offense.

It is more interesting to me than GSM counting Fed's possible future wins.;)

Even as a Fed fan and historian, that should be more hyperbole than a legitimate conversation! :nono :dodgy:
