Lower bounce would be better for Federer, one handers, and smaller players like Nishikori and Ferrer, higher bounce good for the taller players, and two handers. Paris was the highest bouncing I've seen it, and this made it better for the tallest players, big hitters who don't move as well, and made the natural defenders almost impregnable except perhaps on opponents serve or unforced errors. I couldn't believe how some of the second serves especially were kicking up and away and over players heads.

Let's see how the O2 plays this year. It had been medium-slow but relatively lower bouncing until last year, when I thought the bounce looked somewhat higher than it had in the past (but not as high as Paris this year). Of course, each year they can (or do) resurface the court, so they can tinker with the courts as they want.

Respectfully,
masterclass
Novak also corresponds to lower bounce well. We have seen it at least the last two years. According to what you're talking about Novak and his game turns out to be that hes clay spetialist:puzzled

According to the BNP Paribas site, it says their surface and the WTF are exactly the same:

"Since 2012, the BNP Paribas Masters and the ATP World Tour Finals in London have absolutely identical playing conditions. Prior to that the balls (Head ATP) were already identical, while since then the surface has been made the same.
It is made of a flexible acrylic resin which is laid on wooden panels and reinforced by synthetic fibers which have been technically designed to provide ideal ball speed and cushioning for drop shots."

So what are the odds of Lopez winning? And how would Dimitrov feel then?

Yeah, it's one of the reasons why Grigor should man-up and hang around. He has nothing to lose, but plenty to gain if he's successful....

Could change. But, as of now, I'm hoping that Ricola Luden Hall (aka Couf Drop, aka Cilic) wins.

Rafa was one of those "punching bag" a few years ago when Soderling finished off one of Nadal's worst appearances in London! :nono  :dodgy: :p

Tignor has not yet jinxed anyone.

He picked Novak for Shanghia and Fed ended up winning it.

Then he changed horses and picked Fed for Bercy and Novak ended up winning it.

Come on Tignor, go ahead and pick Novak for London too.

^Lol! I really hope he does that. And I suspect he will as Roger's got the tougher group

I hope there's no truth in the rumour that he picked Switzerland at the start of the season to win DC... :ras:

Darth.. I'm not sure I'm going to pay much attention to London this year. My eyes will be focused on Sochi! :) Can't wait!

Will be interested to see that too. I think it will be a whole lot better than last year!

I'm still pumped for YEC though but a bit of the excitement is gone since Roger has pretty much no chance at #1 now.

Yup. I hear you. I was always indifferent towards #1 anyway. I'm more focused on him trying to surpass Lendl's tournament wins now.. and of course more slams

Year end #1 would have been huge but yeah there is no debate Djokovic had the better year and deserves to be #1. YEC is also big and could salvage his year somewhat.

Agreed. And DC would be the icing on the cake. It certainly wouldn't look so good if he doesn't get either

^ Not at all. And the thing that sucks is Roger played great most of the year but going into YEC he doesn't have anything big to show for it, Nole played an amazing Wimbledon final and Roger suddenly disappeared at USO starting in the QF. Otherwise we are talking an incredible season.

This year is almost a mirror image of 2011 in many ways...but he did win YEC that year to break the record with his 6th win there, so maybe he can get #7.
