Tsonga's 30 now. He's quite possibly done due to too many injuries. Hope not though.

Nah JowillieTs has another 3-4 years left to remain in the top 20

He may hang on in the 11-20 range, just because the rest of the pack seems to not be able to make a decisive step forward, but his best days as of 5-8 range could be gone for good.

Joe may have a resurgence during the grass and the US hcs swing

Highlights of the Nadal match, perhaps? How did he play at least, did he have a pedal to the metal performance or a mooballong spectacle?

Can't say I watched much of it but beatable for sure by a non choker with a good serve and aggressive play. Loads of short balls.

I have to say, a few days ago, just to see Nadal's level in the final of RG'14 I searched for the highlights on YouTube (The video is about 25 minutes long). Almost every forehand Rafa hit had good depth, basically in a rally, he would often hit deeper than Djokovic himself (who was playing extremely well, despite losing focus at times). This will make some happy and some sad, but Nadal currently isn't even in the same universe as the one who played in the final and won it. To be honest though, he played like this in Barcelona last year as well. I am really not sure anymore.

Hoping Tsonga can get back p there. Ferrer-Berdych-Tsonga need to resume their who-gets-a-grand-slam-first race.

Dream on! As long as one of the Big 4 gets to the final, it's a done deal for the exclusivity to continue! In my day, you had more upsets and 2 majors (AO & FO) routinely skipped by the elite, but now I just can't see any one of these guys breaking through in their later years! I'd think more in the way of Raonic, Kei, or other "dark horse!" :popcorn  :dodgy:

I know, I know... It's a huge pipe dream but it sure would be awesome to see. We've all see Ferrer celebrate winning a 250. Imagine what his reaction would be when he wins a Slam. I would like to see that.

Cilic has won a GS, I don't see the diference between both players excluding the torpedo serve :nono ;)
And what about Wawrinka? :puzzled

What is going on Rafa?????????

Rafa won 6-3 6-1..he still is a ways away from being the King of Clay

I agree and more watching that last game which playing well he would have finished quickly :nono

Anyway I've just read an article about his new racket and the adjustment he has to do, very interesting but sorry, it's in Spanish :s

Do share the link...there are several Spanish speakers here, and more who can read it.

They both over-achieved last season in the twilight of their careers and were "in the zone" for a good stretch of time, but they've come back to Earth; all but falling out of the top 10! It was inevitable! :puzzled :nono :ras:

Nishikori says:"My goal is always to beat Rafa, though he has beaten me seven times already. I think I'm getting closer every match, he is great player especially on clay. It's a really tough challenge
It's great to come into the Top 5, I know it's not easy to keep this position, the Top four are very good especially Djokovic who is winning almost all the tournaments. However Milos and I are getting closer and it's good for tennis to have some competition. I have to improve my consistency and concentration, especially on important points . There are so many things to do but I feel I'm getting closer to beating them"

Nishikori's path to the finals is looking ok...maybe Bautista Agut, and then Granoller or Robredo. Nadal's is trickier, given recent history. Not so worried about the Fog, but Andujar has troubled him on clay, and Ferrer looms. I am hoping for a Nishikori/Nadal final.

Based on your postings, I thought you are supporting all the promising teenagers, or was I wrong?
Kyrgios's conqueror , "the bloke" from Sweden is another teenager, younger than Nick actually.
More of them will mean more competition in their generation, which will be good, because will push them more to improve.

Very solid win by Nishikori it seems! I didn't get to see any of the match but he only gave up three games. :clap Ferrer is also up a set right now. Would love to see a Nishikori-Ferrer final again!
