Kanepi won the 1st set 75 and was leading 3-0 in the 2nd set,Vekic saved a MP and took it to a t/breaker which she won 76(2)
Vekic is looking stronger off the ground at present compared to Kanepi
After a long service game Kanepi has a DF and Vekic breaks to lead 3-1
Kanepi breaks straight back,whoever can hold their serve in this match wins I feel,also keep their UFE intact

Just tuning into Ash Barty match against Alexandrova who has a big game,and full of confidence and will give Ash plenty to think about.Their first meeting.Both feeling each other out in their service games,Barty was broken in her opening service game and has broken back to level 2 all.Barty targeting Alexandrova's BH which is not as good as her fhand.
Barty 3-2.

Osaka with 3 BPs one thing that has impressed me with Osaka this year has been her return game,she apparently told her coach Wim Fissette that was an area of her game she wanted to improve,she practiced this during the off season.
Osaka breaks and leads 2-0.Garbine with a few nerves to be expected as these 2 have never played each other.
Garbine returns the favor and breaks back.
I still can't work out Osaka's Kit it looks like she if going to a track and field event.
4 games all,both players to me are still feeling each other out,both big striker's of the ball,
Garbine with 2 BPs Osaka's serve found wanting .....
Garbine will serve for the 1st set 5-4...Garbine has so far absorbed the pace of Osaka.

We are back on serve as Osaka played great aggressive tennis and broke Garbine,Garbine I felt a bit too passive
5 games all final set....Osaka going up another gear she needed to
Garbine will now serve to force a t/breaker in the final set.she just has to re-set of how she was playing,forget about being broken while serving for the match,how easy is that hey?
Garbine over hitting the volley and now Osaka has 3 MPs

An example of pure masterclass of tennis between Garbine Muguruza and Naomi Osaka. They brought the best to the match. Many UFE but that was because the other player pressured. Osaka had to play long shots because if it was too far inside the court Muguruza would win the point. Big serves with lots of aces from both players. Muguruza had the chance to win with 2 matchpoints but Osaka survived and you could feel that the moment had gone for Muguruza. Osaka wins the first ladies 3 setter on Rod Laver this year. Well done ladies - you were great.
