I am happy to be wrong,

Well done to Caroline she deserved the win, came back from being down 1-5 in the 1st set to win 75
Down 0-2 in the 2nd set, recovers to level at 4 all, then a untimely call for the trainer by Dayana, may I say this is not the first time she has done this when being behind,I hope her coach addresses this? not sportsmanlike at all.
On her 6th MP Caroline wins 75 75.
She's done it multiple times last year. I saw her in 2 finals call the trainer when she losing. In both occasions she disrupted the opponent and went on to win the match. Ajla is weak mentally anyway and never recovered from having her rhythm broken. She actually called Dayana out on FB about it.

All my hopes that Sabalenka could have a deep run here are gone with a loss to Suarez Navarro who I like a lot, but It would be better if she won against someone else. Sabalenka seems to underperform on slams most of the time

CiCi Bellis d K.Muchova (20) 64 64. A wonderful win considering all the injuries and setback she has had to deal with.
A Dr told her last October she probably wont be able to play tennis again.Thankfully she sought a second opinion.

Has Ash got much to worry about with Rybakina @MargaretMcAleer ?

Match of the day today for me will be Osaka/Gauff. Fascinating clash.

Ash will have to be on her game against Elena, who recently won the Hobart tournament,is yet to be tested at the highest level, she has a great serve, could prove dangerous for Ash.

Actually I am looking forward to watch Wozniacki and Jabeur,Jabeur has been playing well so far in this tournament, though I think Caroline will have the edge.

Osaka v Gauff.....Osaka for me.

First meeting between Ash and Elena, early in the 1st set breaks of serve,Elena usually has a good first serve really deserted her.,she needs to watch her margins, some of her shots are high risk resulting in too many UFE,patience is the key,Ash exposed her movement as well.Ash 1st set 6-3.
Ash with a bhand slice from the baseline and stays low for a winner.,great to watch.Ash is also playing doubles, she played yesterday which I feel keeps her sharp,or any player for the matter.,really improves your singles play.
Elena with her 4th DF gives Ash a double break in the 2nd set,I am quite surprised that her serve is really letting her down today.

Ash d Elena 63 62 Well Done through to the last 16

Elena will be able to take a lot from this match today.

Nerves play a big part of it too. Like you mentioned, she hasn't played anyone the caliber of Barty in her previous matches. It can't be easy playing your first match on RLA especially against an Aussie.
