I looked up her bio....her best results in GS were last year to date, in 2019,

AO 3rd Rd
French 1 Rd
Wimbledon 4 Rd
USO 3 Rd.

Wozniacki literally waited until the end of her career to do something! Holding onto the #1 ranking for well over a year back in 2010 without a major win started the decline of what was considered consistency in the women's game! You also had Safina snaring the top spot for a short time without a major! Caroline was finally "gifted" a small major "down under" in 2018 so her resume won't look so bare when she goes into the HOF in 2026; Serena her bestie presenting WOZ to the crowd in Newport!

You know the saying.........'Better Late Than Never'.....don't bring up Safina to me she drove me to drink.,when she played Sveta in the French GS after beating all and sunder and she played like a total Headcase in that final.

Just to add, the WTA does reward players on how many tournaments they play in points which I think is a fair system.also I don't think anyone 'gifts a GS title to anyone'

With that said I am off to the gym to do some weights before play starts later this morning.

Petra is not having her way against the Spainsh player Badosa,it is windy today and overcast,Badosa is holding her own.Petra won the 1st set 75.
Badosa leads 5-4 in the 2nd set and Badosa is love 30 on Petra's serve.
Petra with a DF and Badosa has 3 SPs.Petra's 1st serve has gone AWOL
Badosa with 2SPs
Wow Down the Line FH winner,it was just out
Badosa with 1 SP left.Petra found her 1st serve and her one two punch with the fhand
Five straight points to Petra, found her 1st serve at critical time in the 2nd set.5 games all.
Petra with 1BP,Badosa has saved 2BPs gutsy.Badosa fhand wide.Petra will serve for the match.

Kvitova d Badosa 75 75......The young Spainsh Badosa can hold her head high, made Petra work today.Well done Badosa!

MP for Suarez Navarro. Sabalenka has dumped 3 returns into the net this TB and also two long.

MP Sabalenka shot sails way long, CSA pulls off the upset. 7-6 7-6

Sabalenka had a SP at 6-5. 58 UEs for Aryna, 36 for CSA

Never count out Caroline Wozniacki.....being down 1-5 in the 1st set she comes back and wins the 7-5 Yastremska
Yastremska needs to play to the conditions and controlled the aggression on both wings, her serve also needs taking some pace off it.

Wozniacki gets the win. Nice. Yastremska always makes me think of the great Carl Yastrzemski, great Red Socks Hall of Famer. (Baseball, for our international friends.)

His grandson Mike is in the majors now so I heard that name recently!

I am happy to be wrong,

Well done to Caroline she deserved the win, came back from being down 1-5 in the 1st set to win 75
Down 0-2 in the 2nd set, recovers to level at 4 all, then a untimely call for the trainer by Dayana, may I say this is not the first time she has done this when being behind,I hope her coach addresses this? not sportsmanlike at all.
On her 6th MP Caroline wins 75 75.
