Novak made an interesting statement after the match.

He said he is fighting his demons.
I always thought, throughout the whole match today, it isn't about the fake kraut, its only about him.

Novak now the only father left in the tournament.

Agree, the security has been very poor, especially inside all 3 venues,I would have thought they would have put more security inside for starters, good point to have a person to review surveillance cameras and report back, agree these offenders should be shown the door.
IF I can point out the specific violators long distance from my TV Screen, they can certainly do something over there!!

I did not watch the match LIVE but seen parts of it later.

Has Djokovics' abdomen injury been greatly exaggerated or not? I cannot say. But If 'Sasha' cannot play and take advantage of a supposedly injured opponent after holding service breaks leads in the third and fourth , or at the very least forcing a final set, then it does not augur well for the german in big time Tennis especially winning a grand slam. Now how many times over the past 4-5 years has Alexander Zverev been touted as the next great champion, etc , IMHO the german was much-overhyped but lacks the intestinal fortitude (Guts) of taking the next step of becoming a GS winner. Would not be surprised if the Serbian goes on to win the whole thing.

Sasha biggest downfall has always been his 'mental fortitude' he was leading Theim 2 sets to love in USO 2020 and he mentally collapsed.Until he can get his 'head in check' this will be a recurring problem for him.

That’s part of the problem. He’s been touted, anointed and trumpeted as the Next Major Champion for the last 3 1/2 years, and while I admit he’s never been a fave of mine, the whiff of entitlement hangs heavy over him.

as to his last match versus Novak:
Far more dangerous a wounded Lion than a braying jackal.

I don't know what to make of Alexander. He could also be struggling to keep his mind on his tennis. Off the court , a former lover has accused him of raping her last year while another young lady, a well known model from germany says she is pregnant by him with their daughter. It is not known if the two are together. A man on a roll isn't he.

I wonder what he meant by "demons"? If it is the oblique, then it makes sense.

There are still forum "experts" out there thinking the US Open last year would have had the same outcome without Novak being thrown out by the incapable officials.:lol6::facepalm:
today the same b**** sat on the chair
Thiem was in blistering form and he barely scraped by at the Australian Open, what's saying he'd do the same at the US Open when he's in arguably worse form?

Many of the posters here argued if Novak wasn’t thrown out , the German mice would have won anyway. This is pure bullshit, never ever would have Novak choked a 2:0 lead away like the russian did.
He won because of not having to play the real deals.

Medvedev takes the 1st set 7-5. Just like the three previous encounters, Rublev is just can't hit past Medvedev. The question now is will Rublev make this a somewhat competitive match or will the match be over in three sets.

Now, this is a FUN match! Both players are hustling and huffing every point! Let's see if Rublev can actually win this second set though...

Medvedev wins the second set 6-3. It looks it will be another straight set win for Medvedev over Rublev.

By the way, with Rublev losing the first two sets of this match, there is only one player in both the men and women side who has not lost a single set this tournament so far: Rafael Nadal.

Hopefully he can keep that intact in his next match:)

Down 2 sets to love, and a service break in the 3rd, Rublev has Medvedev right where he wants him.

Jelenafan sailing down that infamous Egyptian river.....

I think he meant that breaking a racket is his way to let the steam out. Yesterday racket smash was brutal and also funny in a way, it became an instant meme.

Congrats to Daniil, he is the best hardcourt player out there for now.
If Nabull wins today he will have a bloody SF and no matter who wins, one day less of rest till the Final against Novak.
