Novak played terrible point at 30:30, unable to finish it and put his opponent back in match

All in all, this is just a bad match. The only good part of the match is towards the end of the 1st set tiebreaker. After that, there is really no good flow from both players.

I am really baffled on why on earth Zverev keeps hitting back to Djokovic when he is approaching the net?! Like dude, put the ball away from the opponent!

Djokovic beats Zverev in four sets 6-7(6), 6-2, 6-4, 7-6(7) to advance to his 9th AO semifinal. The match did get better towards the end of the 4th set.

Novak has become such a clutch server, unreal how he serves since he employed Goran.

I have to hope for a win of Bobdal over Daniil, he will be an easier opponent for the F.

Subpar performance of Novak like today wont be enough for the Russian. But Nabull is beatable, even with todays performance.

And still Zverev couldn't seize an opportunity. Ugly match.
Thats the problem of all of them when playing the Titans of this game.
i think its even more difficult against Nadal. he is the most consistent of the 3 in being hard to beat, in my opinion.

Zverev, I suppose better to lose to Novak then collapse while losing to Aslan in the SF’s. Watching his matches in Majors is like watching someone looking for the Exit door mentally.
As americans like to say it's more exciting to watch a paint dry than a Zverev match.

But really I'd hate to see him win here only to lose in the next round which was highly possible considering his state of mind.

Today tennis IQ and champion mentality won the match. I felt the whole match was very well played by Novak from tactical point of view, as if he was doing it on purpose at times to let his opponent grab some breaks only to crush him later in the set. One could say that playing anti-tennis and letting his opponent beat himself was the best choice given the situation with injury.

The Victorian Government is expected to end the 5 day lockdown at Midnight Wednesday and from Thursday crowds will be allowed back into the AO,though masks will mandatory inside venues.

It’s no good to have a mask policy if they won’t enforce it. They should be patrolling the sections on foot and hire someone who’s soul responsibility is to review surveillance cameras and report to the field ops what section the violators are sitting in. At the change of ends, they can promptly escort anyone out.

Agree, the security has been very poor, especially inside all 3 venues,I would have thought they would have put more security inside for starters, good point to have a person to review surveillance cameras and report back, agree these offenders should be shown the door.

There are still forum "experts" out there thinking the US Open last year would have had the same outcome without Novak being thrown out by the incapable officials.:lol6::facepalm:
