Nadal is still badly Injured so this epic that he's made the QTR finals only about 30% fit. Nadal also wore out from Covid-19 rules and has not played on hard courts for over a year. Nadal is being a hero right now by playing with bad back which he could not even serve in training.
Badly injured/30% fit:lulz1: He's fine now. Give it a rest ffs. I'll admit his serve was off in the early rounds but he even said he's serving normally since he played Norrie 2 matches ago so, please, stop lying to yourself and everyone here. He was never only 30% fit in this tournament or he wouldn't have played. As for that absolute bs statement about Covid, you do realize it's the exact same for every player, right?! In fact, Nadal and the top 3 got better treatment than the rest so you're talking even more shite than usual.

“I think maybe it is the only real mistake that there was on the part of the organization. They had more practice time on the court. Somehow they had more freedom. The only thing players can complain about, in my opinion, is perhaps Adelaide's preparation. Although, anyway, I think it is always difficult to beat Novak, Rafa and Dominic. That doesn't change. “

"Today is better, yeah. First day I feel an improvement, and that's the most important thing for me today, more than any other thing.

"I need to come back to my normal serving. I was serving quite well. So of course I was not serving my normal serve for the last 15 days.

"Today is the first day that I started to serve again my normal serve. But yesterday I didn't practice, so today just warming up with the new, with the normal movement.

You fool Nadal said he could not serve in training the other day. that does not just go away in two or 3 days you know how long back Injures can last for years. Nadal is Basically without a serve and badly Injured, why do you think he skipped the ATP cup?. If it was not a grand slam Nadal would rest until RG which is that he's going to do after this event which will prove you wrong again. Finally you forget Nadal has not played on hard courts in over a year and is overworked at his tennis Academy.

As an antithesis of Nadal or Novak DJOKOVIC fan, i have to give them a lot of credit for their dedication, training, work ethic and mental toughness especially at their ages. Shame that Dominic Thiem last year's U S Open winner, was ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC in his loss to DIMITROV the other day, does not have their attributes.

Dear dear me. If only Roger was 5-6 years younger. Not enough that Nadal might well break Roger's Grand Slam record but he could also eclipse the 36 consecutive sets another Federer record. Awwwwwww:anxious-face-with-sweat:

I do not think he will break the record or even tie the record. I think Tsitsipas will win a set from Nadal.

i don't now about him being badly injured but looks like his service action is slightly different. It's been paying off as i thought he nailed some serves the other day during the 'heckler' match.

I don't see him breaking that record. He will more than likely lose set(s) in the next 2 rounds.

Console yourself that if Roger were 5-6 years younger, he wouldn't even have that record. That would have made him a direct contemporary of Rafa and Novak, plus Rafa was much more of a prodigy, so it would have been Roger chasing Rafa most of this time.

I think Dimitrov is done trailing 1-5 in the 3rd set, they have 1 set apiece
He has called for the trainer
Karatsev leads 2 sets to 1
Trainer is out on the court for Dimitrov
Dimitrov has gone off court with the trainer,Dimitrov mentioned lower you guessed it back, his movement has been very limited.
Also looks he has had some 'cupping' done on his right side, maybe he has carried this injury into this match.

Dimitrov acting hurt, but not calling for the trainer. What goes on with this Karatsev? Where'd he come from, besides Russia?

The Cinderella Story continues for Q Karatsev d Dimitrov 26 64 61 62 first man to reach a s/final at GS level on debut

Bad luck for Dimitrov picking up an injury in his previous match,he could not move in the 3rd set,he played on and did not retire, kudos to him.

yeah but IF HE DOES win his remaining matches in straight (another 9 sets) , it MUST SURELY rate as ONE OF THE BEST ACHIEVEMENT in SPORT not just TENNIS, Given Nadals' age and longevity. I think it is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE he can do this.

Aw that's a shame. Was hoping for a Dimitrov vs DJOKOVIC or Dimitrov vd Zverev match-up, baring in mind DIMITROV played a blinder vs. NADAL in 2017 semi-final. You remember that one ?

Surely it would have been nice if he was a contemporary. We'd been assured of another 5 years of outstanding rivalry, AYE. Perish that thought.

Regarding Djokovic vs. Zverev coming up in the evening here, i don't see Zverev getting within a bulls roar of winning. He lacks the mental toughness befitting of a champion.

In this lockdown, the Channel 9 TV broadcaster of the australian open tennis , has been a bit silly with their use of fake crowds noise. I reckon it's an insult to viewers including international ones. At the very least why not put up a notice on the screens when it's being used.
