In answer to the question which Aussie is generating more excitement in Australia?

Nick hands down, ever since he defeated Nadal at Wimbledon the media here have already touted him a future No 1 player? personally I feel it is way over the top.Media tends to go way over board.Nick will be under pressure in 2015 to perform.Nick only won 10 matches on tour in 2014? of course his defeat of Nadal at Wimbledon rose him to fame somewhat.Nick even as a junior player picked up injuries, that seems to follow him now,he will be 20 this year.

Well said. In particular your 'I feel it is way over the top' sentence.

Tomorrow is going to be a big day for the Aussies. I can't wait!

Which guy is currently generating more excitement in Australia: Tomic or Kyrgios?

Kyrgios, for sure. In Australia, the AO is broadcasted on two channels - channel 7 (the main one) and its small little brother network 7TWO (an extension of channel 7 broadcasting). A few times already Tomic and Kyrgios have been playing simultaneously, and when this has happened, Nick gets the channel 7 broadcast and Tomic gets the 7TWO one. I find that pretty interesting.

The media are also hyping up Nick more, especially when it comes to front page headlines and the likes.

No.Channel 7 is the official broadcaster for the Australian Open

Fox sports will cover RG,Wimbledon and the USO

Fox sports used to cover all the Master Series events, then they lost the contract to ESPN,which is a shame,Fox could not match the money like ESPN

So no AO tennis on Fox sports at all ? Personally I lost interest in the RG and doubt it if I'll watch it again.

Channel 7 (and its sister networks) also broadcast Wimbledon, and their coverage has been getting extensively better over the years, but they pay no attention to RG and the USO.

It is my fav slam Roland Garos,it is also the hardest of the slams to win.I was brought up on clay,so I can appreciate clay,it is also my favorite surface.

You're joking right ? C 7 has and continues to bastardize the AO coverge what with heavy promotion of various shows coming up 'after the tennis', overuse of megawall and Players press conferences being shown DURING the matches. Ridiculous over-hype of the Aussies when all things considered a lot of them are lowly ranked. Some of the commentary is so inane and inappropriate (particular by the english female)
To their credit, Seven's Wimbledon coverage is far more adequate. I am saddened to hear Fox Sports has lost their rights to the AO.

Channel 9 used to televise Wimbledon which was a great coverage I must add, then it became too expensive and also because of the time difference between London and Australia, the audience viewing dropped off, another factor was the money and channel 9 sad to say had to cancel it.

I meant their coverage of Wimbledon has gotten extensively better over the years. They have a lot of work to do in regards to the AO - they're rather deplorable in aspects. I mean, after Seppi caused one of the biggest upsets in AO history, they didn't even bother showing his on-court interview straight away because Tomic was starting. They just crossed over to his match and barely said a word about Federer's shock loss. In regards to commentators, I've always liked Jim Courier - minority opinion, I'm sure.

But channel 7 are hopelessly behind the times. They elect to use 7TWO, a standard definition network, to broadcast the AO. They could have easily gone with 7mate, a high definition network, instead, but they don't. And channel 7 isn't even high definition. So, essentially, we're seeing no tennis in HD and we are in 2015! The AO is on 7mate between 6.00pm and 7.00pm nightly (because of the news), so they're capable of showing it but only for an hour. It's really pathetic.

Agree with you about Courier. Especially with the on-court after match interviews. Fox sports coverage of the AO was a lot more basic than Seven's and easier on the eye particularly when one is visually impaired.
