Just read on twitter that Stepanek has retired after being up 7-6 6-4 1-6 0-2. It has reached 107 degrees. That is crazy hot.

This means Stepanek and Kvitova gets to go home together. Good for the relationship.

I hope they go to a beach resort rather. Why home on such weather?

2nd honeymoon in Tasmania. Why not?

US player Rhyne Williams is up 6-1 v. DelPo in the TB.

After all the talk that Hewitt will go deep, he is down a set and a break to Seppi

I thought Karlovic will be a spoiler too. But, he got out in R1 itself.

OK, now Lleyton is really toasted. Seppi starts the 3rd breaking him.

3rd set Hewitt. This one will go very long, I wager, now.

Whoever wins this match will probably not recover in time to win the next one
at over 100 temp again.

wasn't sure how Andy would play after back Op.If he keeps this up like he's playing Soeda,Murray will be a danger here.ATM Andy has 78% first serve.

Being on court for hours will not help any tennis player in this heat.

Go soeda is ranked outside 100. You might recall that murray double bageled a guy
who was out of 1000 recently.

It is too early to say anything. Let us wait and see.

Good news for Murray; Not only Isner lost, the ever tricky Kohlschrbriet also
withdrew due to some injury. So, there is only one seed left in Murray's section
of the draw viz., the heartthrob of his Mom.

With so many easy matches, Murray can easily play into form in this tournament.

Where was this talk? He's in Nadal's section...nobody predicted he'll go deep. But yeah, nobody saw him losing in the first round.

Come on LLeyton... That's exactly what I meant about Hewitt making the first week in Australia interesting. His matches have special feel.

Seppi playing a very smart match... Handling Lleyton's net approaches well. He's got a deceptively annoying flat game too. Always thought he's a bit better than whatever ranking he had indicated.

EDIT: He also produces more power than Lleyton with the forehand and it's making a difference. Both have shaky second serves so you just don't know when someone will break though.

With Harrison still playing, I wonder how much of Nadal v. Tomic they will show here in the USA. Think I will tape and go back to bed.

Tomic injured himself with that serve?
