I have to say there were a lot of Polish fans in the crowd supporting Hubi, apparently he is one of the nicest guys on tour
This was Meddy's 2nd 5th set match so with the heat it was physically tough at times, though he managed to get through it

only two more five setters and Australian Open 2024 will have a new record of AO 5 setters, though someone in the commentary box says the US Open 1983 holds the record at 35, at odds with 34 that was mentioned on another article.

It’s quite possible a record number of 5 setters at a major will be set here. With guys like Medvedev, Alcaraz, Sinner, and Djokovic still in the mix, it could happen.

Good on you tented. Am reviewing the '83 US Open right now. But you don't hear what the Grand Slam record on women singles three setters is.

We’ve seen him work his way into matches, after slow starts, so it seems he’s doing that again. There’s a lot of time left, but it is a bad beginning.
Absolutely. Novak won the first set easily at their Wimbledon final, and then from there it was a war that Carlos won. (Thus far) Zerev is looking the best he has all tournament..

Agree about Zverev looking his best thus far. He won the first set 6-1 in just 29 minutes.

It looks as though the lad is waking up. That was the best service game from him thus far.
