I cannot get into Hubi's tennis at all also he needs to find a personality

Yes, he needs to curse and scream as his team box, break rackets, act like an arrogant jerk whenever things don't go his way like Djokovic.... Or what about lose his mind, abuse himself with violence and act like a lunatic like Rublev...

Good morning Moxie. Jannik played well. Played the key points really well and never let Andrey into the match. Hopefully with the ab it was just a strain and no tear. The two guys were crushing the ball.
Yes, plus he has the extra day rest, so hopefully not an issue.
Your 2nd set observation. By now one would think that Novak would not be playing under any pressure. But the guy is driven. Rather than relaxing and enjoying himself, he’s trying to get through as quickly as he can knowing he’s going to. be facing Sinner and Alcaraz. He stresses out, messes up, and then slips into passive play. Everything becomes an issue…. the heat… the crowd. The 2nd set is where he seems to lose his :pile-of-poo: and then regroups.
Novak's serve was not on song for most of the first two sets. It was very hot, which he hates. But I do want to give a shout-out to what I see as an improved Fritz...his game has a lot more going on that it used to, and there's a good chance we can credit Annacone. But I think you're right to suggest that he might not get past Sinner. His only convincing match was v. Mannarino, so far. I thought his cold was over and he was hitting his stride, but he had more than a few struggles today/last night. As I mentioned, I don't think the better player in that first set won it.
It’s not pretty and it’s no fun to watch.
Speak for yourself! :lulz1:
At this point, I think Jannik will be playing in the finals. He’s been the best player all tournament and barring any real pushback from Zverev and Medi, he will be facing Carlos in the final.
That's the final I have in my draw. I hope so.

Second sets have been an issue with him as long as I can remember. I’d love to know how many he has lost in his career. I feel pretty confident it would be a noteworthy percentage.

Okay The Pole v Meddy on RLA is has got very windy, though at present RLA seems calm'. The stadium at 2.00pm local time is not full at all.
Pole from memory has beaten Meddy on grass his least favorite surface and leads their H2H
I feel Meddy on the HC has a slight advantage, as long as his return game is in 'check' . The Pole has a huge serve and loves to stand firm on the baseline and dictate.
Good decision from Meddy to receive taking on Pole's serve returning it out wide and breaks
The Pole dosent want to play 'cat and mouse' tactics with Meddy, he will come undone
Meddy consolidates ( back later I have a dentist appointment UGH)

Meddie is confusing Hubie by not returning from Perth. Anyway, HH finally holds.

Just came back from the dentist and Meddy won 1st set in a TB 76(4) and Hubi took the 2nd set 62?
Presently Meddy has consolidated his break early in the 3rd set and leads 3-1
Still a bit of cat and mouse tactics going on, Meddy had 3SP but to his credit the Poles serving held
Meddy will serve for the 3rd set 5-3 Meddy using his serve out wide, an Ace from Meddy to win 3rd set 63
Meddy leads 2 sets to 1.

Credit to Fritz. He dictated for most of the 2nd set. It’s one thing for Novak to be put on his heels and another for someone to keep him there. If Taylor had better conditioning to be able to sustain that level for more than three hours (his own words not mine), who knows the outcome.

Meddy was in control of the 4th set and then a sudden level dip and Hubi came back with more energy and being the aggressor to level the match 75
2 sets all going 5, if Meddy dosent lift his level then it is all over for him sad to say

Medvedev looks like the heat is getting to him. (I just turned it back on, so I’m basing this on watching only a few minutes.)

Yes, though he just had a great returning game and broke the Pole thank goodness leads 4-3, this match would have been over in 4 sets when he had control, though I feel the heat got to him and he let his advantage slip away
