A DF from Alex and he gives the 1st set 64 to HD
I dont know why he needs to hit bigger on his shots, which end in UFE, just keep the ball in play is a better idea Alex
I’ve always liked Alex. He has fight, and doesn’t give up. His game is more interesting than Rublev’s too, but really that could be said about many other players (but not Isner). That said, Alex is probably going to lose to Rublev (which will be good for my draw challenge. :lol6:)

ahh damn, have been watching the De Minaur vs Rublev R16. I thought Alex would do better than how it's going thus far.

De Minaur has good speed around the court and is not shy about getting to the net and put away the volley. Thus far he's not been getting to the net nearly as much as i thought he should.

Very disappointing in that last game at 3 all in the second set, Deminaur held two break points and on the second BP where a long rally ensued but Alex had two chances to move forward, but didn't and ultimately lost that point - and the game.

Alex needs to use his bhand slice more, and when the time is correct bring HD to the net, HD weight of shot in these heavy conditions is making Alex at times over play and hit harder than he needs to

Vince,

Bad luck regarding Alex, I think in these heavy conditions favored HD overall, RLA when it is windy is hard to play in the best of times, as I have been there many times. Alex went down with a fight as usual.
HD will play Sinner in the QFs., Sinner leads their H2H 4-2

Tsitsipas is still in the Top 10 thanks to Rublev defeating Alex De Minaur, if Alex was the victor in the match it would have been the first time since March 2019 that Stef was not in the Top Ten.

Rublev was asked after the match,

What's it like to be inside your head?
" Better not to be inside my head. I don't know, it's like a scary movie. Better not to be inside myself" :)
