Sasha, Grigor and Sock are playing for the first time in WTF. Does anyone know whether it is a record to have three different new players in WTF? I would tend to think so, but did not fact check.

Probably. Anyone remember something about Grigor being too petulant to be the alternate a couple of years ago?

Tignor picks Fed and Sasha to advance from Becker Group. I pick Fed and Cilic.

Tignor picks Rafa and Dimi to advance from Sampras Group. I concur.

Just a quick PSA for folks in USA without access to Tennis Channel:

Not to worry. ESPN3 carries all matches live. So, we can watch high quality streams without any trouble.

I would guess 2009 also with delPo, Soderling and Verdasco.

I think only if you subscribe to cable and have ESPN. Otherwise it is Batmanstream ;-).

I'd wager it's happened before! The rankings were a lot more volatile "back in the day!" One season Jimmy Arias might be "killing it" with a huge FH in '83, making the Masters YEC, and the next he's a head case that was ruined by a DAVIS Cup Tie in South America! The same was true with injuries to the young 'uns like Arias' rival Aaron Krickstein! They were usually just fodder for the top seeds even with their good seasons, then drop off the face of the Earth allowing other players to take their place in the top echelon the following seasons!

Since it is my 25th Birthday tomorrow, I am hoping Nadal wins his 1st Round robin match!

What about ESPN3 - http://www.espn.com/watch/

I just loaded the page without being logged into my cable account and watched part of a college football game. It could be that as long as you have a US IP address that you'll be able to stream ESPN3 on your computer\laptop. If you use an iPad or tablet with the ESPN app...that's a different story because you have to authenticate the app with a cable company account.

Would've loved watching this tight second set instead of that garbage.

don't worry mate. Roger playing like garbage in the 2nd set. Strangely nervous. Unable to take advantage of numerous break points. He could end up losing a tie breaker now

i think he's really struggling with Sock's power. Fed has played decent from what I've seen which is basically the 2nd set and the last few games.

Sock's bold play has carried over from Paris. Nice return to get mini break back

Pulled it out. I have a feeling Sock is winning against Sascha or Cilic here though, he's not going to be a total patsy.

Nah... don't think it was Socks power. Roger was extremely passive on those break points in the 2nd set. It looked like he was just hoping Sock would miss. Didn't look that convincing to me, but to be honest it's the first match. He'll get into it

Sock won 59% on 2nd serve and Fed won 65%. Tough to break with those numbers. Roger has been tremendous on 2nd serve return all year so hopefully just a blip.
