Nothing poetic about it. Roger still has a pathetic H2H against Rafa unless he wins 9 more in a row. There should be no mercy, make the balding man cry.
What a pathetic comment!

Again with the whining about Nadal's cupcake year. It doesn't look good on you, @Busted. Now even complaining about this draw. I agree with most here that Rafa got the easier group, but it is the top 8 of 9 ranked. It does make a huge difference that Novak, Andy and Stan are out for the year. It's not like either group is formidable, compared to the other.

I'm not "whining" - just stating facts. Nadal got the easier draw.I was just making a joke - hence the emojis so I know you don't want me to remind you of who Nadal beat to win his 6 titles (Ramos-Vinolas (ranking at the time: 24), Thiem (9), Thiem (9), Headcase\Stan (3), Anderson (32), Kyrgios (19) vs who Roger beat to win his 7 titles (Nadal (9), Headcase\Stan (3), Nadal (7), A. Zverev (12), Cilic ( 6), Nadal (1), DelPo (19). Shoot...do I see Nadal's name on that list 3 times? Hmmm...it should be 4 but I couldn't count IW...:yahoo::lol6:

I'm just saying...don't throw any stones, Moxie. The Nadal fans here out-whine the Federer fans like its their life's mission and there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow..

Thiem is nothing on hard courts and people are seriously overrating Mcfly here. I can see Roger losing a match in his section and if he isn't sharp for some reason he could even drop 2. Fed at a C level would likely cruise to 3-0 in the other section. I'm not complaining, by the way, as it always figured to be a case where there'd be one laughable group this year.

Speaking of laughable - today the ATP posted the stat for the 8 players vs. Top 10 opponents. I just shook my head a the ineptness of 5 of the other 6. I'm cutting Zverev some slack because he's only 20...

OK, girl. You're not going to out-whine, but you do have chapter and verse on how easy Nadal's excellent 2017 was just a cake-walk. :lulz2::rose:

WHICH balding man? God knows I hate to defend Nadal for anything, but...in case you failed to notice - Roger's hairline is going backwards. In another year or two he'll be doing his father's comb-forward...

If that's an "excellent" year - not being able to beat someone you thought you owned AND getting thumped by that person 3 times in a row like you're little more than a practice partner? :spank2:Then I'm going to say that Federer fans have a more elevated view of an "excellent" year than Nadal fans do. :lol6: LOL! OK...I'm going to stop now because I'm venturing into Obsi-obnoxious territory...

Well there would be something poetic about the year starting with a surprise win by Roger, and then ending with an upset by Rafa at the WTF. But let's hope it doesn't come to that - if for no other reason then we don't have to deal with Carol's I-told-you-sos.

But...is it really an upset if Nadal wins...other than that whole thing where Roger's owned him this year and he's never won the WTF? He's #1, right? Shouldn't that mean he's SUPPOSED to win it? If this were Djokovic we'd jsut assume that he's going to win it. Roger's not going to win all his matches against Nadal. Sooner rather than later he'll play a bad one. Especially if the court's playing slower than normal? Plus, if he doesn't play his best he could lose to Zverev and or Cilic and be 1- 2 and not make it to the semis let alone the final. To me an upset is anyone other than Roger, Nadal or Zverev winning. Of course I'd rather it be Roger...but he's got a tough draw at the end of a long year. I'm a realist - and caca happens.

I am afraid Fedal won't happen in London.

I concur. A 5 match this year? I don't see it happening...and you know the ATP is scared spitless that it won't. They'd better those finals ticket are already sold out because nobody's going to spend that kind of money for a final that doesn't include at least one of the two. Worst case scenario: Sock vs. Goffin, Thiem or Dimitrov.

I still see Fed winning it. I was only predicting that Fed will not face Rafa anytime in this year's WTF.

I'd love to see Roger and Rafa play it off at the end of the year, even if surface and circumstances don't favor Nadal. Just try not to be assholes about it when Roger does the expected, eh?

And who says that he won’t? I do think he will because everything is on his side , the surface and the opponents, what else you can ask?

It's would be the perfect way to settle 2017..I would assume and hope Rafa would open up his shoulders and let it fly vs Roger..Now Andre Agassi makes the same declaration on ESPN..

Funny thing...while this tournament would favor Roger over Rafa as much as any this year, I still get a twinge of relief at the thought of Rafa pulling out. Old habits die hard.

Nah, there shouldn't be any fear right now especially at this tournament. Good opportunity to make the H2H just a bit better and also it'd be the largest winning streak in the rivalry.

Really? The largest streak? There was a time I thought it was just continuous winning from Rafa. That's amazing

It would be, should it happen. Rafa has beaten Roger 5 times in a row two different times. Previous to this year, Roger had only ever beaten Nadal twice in a row, 2 times.

The schedule is out. Becker group goes first. Fed plays Sock on Sunday Morning and Sasha plays Coughdrop on Sunday evening.
This means, Fed will get a day of rest after his last RR match before he plays SF and F on back to back days (old man may need it in case back acts up ;)). On the other hand, anybody from Sampras group need to play the last three days in a row.

Maybe in fairness, since the old guy got the tougher group.
