This is really a great opportunity wasted by Roger to get to #7 in WTF.

Now, it is no longer 140 pt difference between him and Rafa. It is 1040. So, Roger does not have to worry about changing his schedule
and going to Brisbane.

So that makes 2 wasted opportunities for the 2 legends this year. I remember when the Nadal fans were crying that he let one slip away in Cinci.

That was a lost opportunity too, but I wasn't referring to the AO, but there was a depleted field in Cinci and everyone was giving the trophy to Nadal before he even played Shap just like here everyone practically held a coronation for Roger as champion when they looked at the other semifinalists.

I'm positive you mean "figuratively," because they don't let the literal one on TV.

Yeah, LOL. Typed it with autocorrect on, and god help me if I know how whatever word I typed there got converted into the one word it wasn't supposed to.

That would have not been a good show at all lol.

Novak is coming , I think Grigor will fall back to his natural place by June if he has a poor AO 18

I guess I jinxed Roger when I said Goffin shouldn't be in the SF of the YEC! Now he's serving for the match! WOW!

The match is over ages ago lol. Your stream isn't live:p

The commentators mentioned that if Goffin wins today, he will be the sixth player to win against both Rafa and Roger in the same tournament.
The other five are given below with the number of times they did so in parentheses.

1. Novak (4)
2. Davydenko (2)
3. Delpotro (1)
4. Murray (1)
5. Nalbandian (1).

Hope the list does not get extended.

It did! - #6. Goffin (1)  :ptennis:

What the hell is your problem, man? Grigor's "natural place" is wherever he sees appropriate. Just like any other player.

And why in the world would you hype him up anyway? I hope it comes back to bite you in the ass... And you know exactly what I'm talking about. Don't come crying to me if he who shall not be named eliminates Nadal at AO 18...

Not really hype up Novak but just as I predicted Roger and Rafa to return to the top, Novak is probably the 3 to 4 best I have ever seen.."You can't Stop what's coming "..

U mean number 17 correct..

Cryin?

I just saw that Little David Goffin beat Roger. Didn't see that coming and I haven't seen the match so I have no idea if Roger was still playing with his C-game or not - but good for Goffin. It's way past time some of these guys started stepping up on big occasions. Since Goffin beat both Roger and Nadal - although not back to back - they should give the little fella the trophy and call it day. LOL! Just kidding...

I also saw that Sock took the first set off Dimitrov. A Sock/Goffin final? Thank God I don't have a ticket because I'd be trying to sell it...at a loss...

This, folks, is a glimpse at the possibility of an immensely boring future full of average players in men's tennis. It's going to be like the women's tour...only with testosterone instead of estrogen. I get that we've been spoiled these last 14-15 years...but still...can't say I'm looking forward to not having truly great legendary players stacked at the top of the rankings. I do see some good players coming up, but nobody that truly excites or impresses me.

Amen & hallelujah to that! I've been waiting right along with you; hoping, praying, begging for some new blood to break thru!

Jack played badly in the second set. It looks like he has some problems with his feet, and he may change his socks for the third set.

What in the world happened to Grigor after that 3-0 lead? I turned away to watch some figure skating and I turn back to see Sock won that 1st set! Grigor can kill "hope" at times with his "disappearing act!"  :banghead: :cuckoo:

Wow, just saw that Roger lost - very surprising, but also hard to be too upset about it as I'm happy for Goffin. Nice to see one of "lost gen" is going to win the WTF.

Grigor was a mess later in the first. The third is pretty good. Great last point of that game.
