It seems like the amount of activity and discussion on TF during GS is probably at the lowest level ever.
Maybe some people just too busy with jobs or whatever and some just waiting to crawl out later in the tournament, dunno.

I am happy to participate and watch matches the whole day. I will be able to watch Wimby at home too (big bonus for me catching 2 in a row), but USO I am not sure, depends where will my ship be. If we are at sea and net is slow, I can just watch livescores and read articles. Not so easy for me to follow each slam and the whole season in detail, but I'm trying and this forum helps.

My husband is a Chief Marine Engineer and is in the Merchant Navy,he is a avid sports follower and often moans to me about losing coverage depending on where his ship is:)

I am Electro Engineer so that would make him my boss. I see you understand our struggles then. It's so frustrating at times, but as I said I try to use the opportunity now and watch as much as I can. By the 2nd week of slam my wife starts complaining on how it's only tennis on a tv for a whole day. So I play it smart now, I stream on a laptop and the phone if needed and carry it with me around the apartment

Delpo loses the 4th set in the TB. A bad drop shot which gave enough time for Nishioka was the primary culprit.

I wanted JMDP to win this quickly so that he can save his energy for the SF. If JMDP has to play long matches like this, he may not even reach SF.
Why do you want Del Po to reach the semi finals.

To prevent Nol2 slam.

Why? Like Nadal needs another FO? Nole needs at least 1 more to elevate it over "a fluke!" Murray probably should have won that 2016 match but for him allowing early Rd. matches to drag out to 4 and 5 set contests so unnecessarily! He was spent after a blistering 1st set! His tongue must have been hanging out of his head as he was run back and forth like a dog by Djokovic with endless rallies in the 2nd, 3rd, & ending 4th sets! He got payback by overplaying that season, overtaking Nole for #1 in the last match of the season at the YEC Final! I've told people Murray and Nadal will pay for their style of play! Murray; DONE! Nadal still hanging on by a fingernail IMO! :nono:  :cuckoo:

We need more inflammatory opinions. I thought about making a fake one, but I happen to have a real one in fact, that with so little time to post I let it pass:

This tournament is where future begins. Neither Nadal or Djokovic wins it (not to mention the Swiss Methuselah).

Latest odds after the market had time to digest the draw.

Only 10 folks have a puncher's chance (1% or better).

There are three contenders (with more than 10% chance), 3 pretenders (more than 2% chance) and four honorable mentions.

1. Ralph 11/10 (47.62%)
2. Novak 11/4 (26.66%)
3. Thiem 8 (11.11%)

4. Tits 20 (4.76%)
5. Fed 33 (2.94%)
6. Sasha 40 (2.44)

7. JMDP 75 (1.32%)
8. Man 80 (1.23%)
9. Fognini / Coin Thrower 100 (1%)

After two rounds, only one guy who had a puncher's chance exited, viz. Medvedev. So, the remaining nine are still in the mix.

I hope you're right.

Of the 128 players who play(ed) in this French Open, my preferred winner is:

1. Federer
2-10ish. Some Young Guy (Tsitsipas, Zverev, Thiem, etc)
11ish-126. Anyone else
....
127. Novak
128. Rafa

Let us check the current odds after two rounds.

1. Ralph 5/6 (54.54%)
2. Novak 3 (25%)
3. Thiem 9 (10%)

4. Perseus 22 (4.35%)
5. Roger 25 (3.85%)
6. Sasha 40 (2.44%)

7. JMDP / Man 66 (1.5%)
9. Fog / Samurai / Clown 100 (1%)

Interestingly at the beginning of the tourney only 10 players had a puncher's chance. However, we now have 11 players with a puncher's chance. Coin thrower exited, but Samurai and Clown entered.

Another important change, in case you have not noticed it, is that Ralph finally has better chances than the field.

Next update shall be after four rounds are over.

I’m curious. If a Fed fan had to choose the winner, would it be Nadal or Djoke? Does Nadal’s getting to 18 weaken Fed’s chances of winning the GOAT debate in a few years’ time more than a Nole Slam?
