Guess not. He was making a lot of difficult shots. I do not know Nadal´s game that much, I was reading a slower serve in the end of the match more like tiredness than anything else.

One thing he had not in this match was the benefit of a folding opponent. Even one set behind and looking he was about to be finished, Raonic didn´t let go. He started off hitting big and ended exactly the same way.

I am pleased to see Milos stepping it up as he should as the top seed and defending champion.

[You are right, Dimitrov will kill Raonic tomorrow. Milos doesn't care at all to defend his title. The only thing he cared about is to play 100% against Rafa/Fed. But against Novak or Andy, god forbid he plays a good set. Gets broken at will. I truly hate him, he is such a pu$$y.

That is right, that is all it matters. To remind over and over to the two big "has beens" that their glory days are in the past

Don't fret(fret means get discouraged) mrzz, Rafa is playing good tennis and his legs combined with the long journey ( meaning jet lag tiredness) to down under finally wasn't there the last hour plus of his match vs Milos. Combined with the outstanding power serving and hitting by Milos, Rafa wasn't able to get much rhythm today. However with a few days off and some intense tweaking by Carlos Moya on his technical game, Rafa should be ready to make a great run at AO. Although, foolishly I posted on another thread that is Rafa ran into Verdasco who is on fire and clearly rejuvenated against Novak , this could be a possible "Waterloo " for his hopes to make it late into the 2nd week at AO. IMO (means In my opinion)

^hahahaha, thanks a lot for the care, AP. IMO I get. "Don´t fret" in fact I did not know (but at least I can find on urban dictionary). I am getting there... You native English speakers actually must find quite hilarious all the "accents" around here...

Nah, I love listening to other accents. My preference is European or Austrialian for webinars and conference calls. Too many butchers from east Asia who really butcher the English language that really gets lost in translation.

Jeez Puppet Master, chill.

As for Rafa, his fans should be overall pleased. He probably looks the best he has starting a year since 2014. I think he should be a serious threat at the AO. This match showed us more about Milos--that he can beat the big dogs--than it does about Rafa, except that he's not invulnerable. But we knew that already.

Just regarding that bastard, he posts once in a blue moon, and is there only when the disgusting person on his avatar has a good run. Doesn't have the decency to congratulate anyone on anything, just insults players more successful than his favourite. I have had it with his passive aggressive idiotic posts. That is all.

Agree with everything you posted, Front. I think there are fans who don't want to admit the truth if it means degrading their favorites. I don't think this is worth debating. The player who attacks loses the point more often than not. This is why I and millions of others are Fed fans. He can play offensively and still win. Nadal is one of the best ever and has arguably the highest tennis IQ on the planet. He plays the percentages, which leads to a lot of wins, but does not dazzle as much as Fed's style of play.

What good has it done for Ferrer, Berdych, Almagro, Cilic, and all those other counter-punchers to just hang on the baseline trying to beat the elite over the last 10 years? What do they have to show for it; 4 or 5 wins out of a collective 100 matches? I scream at the TV all the time; even when Nole and Murray do it! A great offensive shot was hit and they know a weak reply is coming back, but they still hang on the baseline afraid to approach the net! It's sad and pathetic to see them actually back up rather than take the ball out of the air! It's truly weak IMO! :puzzled :nono :cover

So Djokovic is not winning anymore slams... Federer and Nadal days already passed, I got that too. Problem is that I think Murray is such a loser, so he does not win anymore too.

We are left with Wawrinka, but he cannot be trusted. Cilic is a one slam wonder, and del Potro has glass wrists. Nishikori has even more glass on him, so he´s out too. Young guns? Nah.

Tsonga? Too good to be true. Berdych? Are you serious? Ferrer? Tennis gods won´t allow.

The Australian Open will be the first of a series of Slams without a winner.

Zverev or Raonic will be the next AO Champion..........:laydownlaughing

Come on guys, too much drama for nothing. After to be injured and being out of the court for more than two months any player needs to get the rhythm and the only way is playing matches (and not only practicing). Rafa has played pretty well but of course not yet his best and today has lost a very close match against the #3 who has had his best serve so far and taking care in the third set looking that his opponent had gone down with his aggressiveness . I said from the beginning that even if he would lose or win all these matches are going to help him for to be ready at the AO and I'm sure he will be

Can't wait until Carol decides to share her reasons for her predication about Novak not winning more slams. Considering she also predicted a roaring year for Nadal i 2015 and 2016 (according to her he needed to: a)tweak his serve; and b)tweak his attitude--and he was going to be back winning slams), I won't lose any sleep in the interim:lolz:

But like some have said, satisfied after beating Roger or Rafa! Grigor's having little trouble with him; serving, for it in a bit! :puzzled :nono :cover
