Yes, Carol, we know this. Rafa is "rock" to Roger's "scissors." Of course rock and scissors are equally powerful in the game of Rock, Paper, Scissors, but rock wins the match-up.
For the record, believe me or not, I like Roger and give him a lot of credit but some of his fans......ptttfff :nono :(:cover

Actually, Roger stated again early this week that he actually has a high admiration for Rafa, so it's so ironic that Federer always has a high opinion of Rafa's game yet some of his his Fed fans have the total opposite feelings towards the Dirt Devi :devil

There are players who offend me for some reason; sometimes when quite young! It's a persona I might be reading more into than I should, but Nadal's on that list with Agassi (imagine is everything), Connors, McEnroe, & Becker! It might be their arrogance or self-entitlement that never seems to wane that gets to me! :nono :cover

There are others players which have the worst behavior, smug, insulting the crowd, the players and their mothers smashing the rackets, the adds, the ballboys, etc etc and not for that reason I like to crush them constantly, it's their own business with their stupidity but I'm sure you like them more :nono:(

Carol posted a clip of a nice point from the match against Dolgopolov which I even said was a nice shot btw and then stated she could post many others from that match. Here's how all this silliness started.
Well, here are the stats. Take your pick from these many winners, Carol. There were 4 (6 if you want to count the 2 aces as winners). A whole 4, yes. Now, please don't go telling us Federer fans we're talking rubbish when we're giving you actual facts. No one is or was trying to cause any argument here, except you. We were merely discussing winners and you clearly didn't even watch that match properly at all when you said you could post many more. You have 3 more to show us and 2 aces :cover

- Dolgopolov's 1st serve % in set 1 was 38%.
- Nadal 1st winner in the match happened in the 9th game, it was an ace.
- Nadal 1st baseline winner in the match happened in the 9th game too, a backhand winner.
- Nadal didn't hit a forehand winner in the entire match. He came close in the 12th game, but Dolgopolov tried a defensive lob, who didn't reach the net, so technically a forced error.
- Nadal won 62 total points, 56 coming from Dolgopolov's errors (32 unforced).
- Nadal had 6 winners in the match - 2 aces, 2 from the backhand, 1 volley, 1 smash). 3 of those winners happened in the 9th game.

I don't know how much you know about tennis but if you would know a little bit more you would have to know that MANY TIMES the "unforced errors" are FORCED errors....learn!

Are we talking about forced errors? No. We are talking about winners and he hit a whopping 4 of them besides the 2 aces. Learn yourself.

As Kieran once said so brilliantly about my favorite Rafa hater, "Front is an idiot when it comes to his analysis of Nadal!"

Yes, so brilliantly. I give you the actual facts, ie stats and you still try and ignore the truth and call me an idiot. What a joke you Nadal fans are. Truly the most embarrassing fanbase out there. You're butthurt that he hits only 4 winners in a match (6 if you count the 2 aces) and yet that makes me an idiot. Nice logic!

You've a funny way of showing us all you like him lol. So no, we don't believe you. You said earlier you hadn't said anything about Federer since your "blog vacation". How long did that "vacation" last since you were already talking about him here.

Hey, Front, next time try it the politically correct way:

Instead of "Nadal is more defensive than offensive" and "there are exceptions to that rule", which are clearly offensive sentences, you should use:

"Nadal is an impressive, fantastic, absurd an amazing offensive player but he is, unbelievably, an yet even better defensive player" and "but there were a lot of matches were he played an offensive tennis so great that even the gods lost their breath".

And of course you should end it all with "everyone is special".

Why is Roger even mentioned in this thread? Is he playing here? Please talk about Brisbane here. If you want to wage another statistical Fedal war, take it to a separate thread.

I would link the highlights of the Nadal - M. Zverev match, but I think uploading rape on tennis frontier is forbidden.
Rafa hit 31 winners, he looked fantastic. There were some suicidal net approaches by Zverev, but there waa nothing he could do. Nadal's first serve speeds were also very impressive, he must have averaged over 185 kph, which is very good for him.

AP cited Federer in the previous post. Not that it all matters that much...

Thank you Carol. But pointing out what someone else did doesn't negate your responsibility in it. Stop being so easily baited.

Can't argue with 6-1, 6-1. A bigger indicator comes tomorrow against Mad Milos. The H2H is 6-1 to Rafa, with Milos lone victory coming during the lousiest of Rafa's career, 2015 - but even that year he beat Milos in straights in China, so it could be a good gauge of how he's doing...

We(the Rafa fans) are working on Miss Carol..she is good people..however poor Miss Carol gets blamed if it's snows in Chicago in March, if it rains in Northern California in the Summer or if Rafa wins a match..I know she is doing the best she can with some of the vultures that sometimes linker on this board.

I hope Milos decides to come to the net like MZ did today..Rafa needs to keep sharpening his passing shots:clap

Unless Raonic would bomb Rafa with his torpedos serves and Rafa would have a bad day I don't think the Canadian will go too far
