Poor innocent Carol, who has absolute nothing to do with the Fedal squabbles. Its all about those evil, nasty Federer fans harassing her all the time. :p

Back to tennis, Thiem-Dimitrov could be very interesting, especially if Dimitrov is playing to his ability.

Domi's godawful returning will probably cost him the match. I think Dimitrov takes it in 2, with one tiebreak. He is the bookies favourite as well, and the surface is fast and low bouncing. How can you go against Grigor?

Why is Roger even mentioned in this thread? Is he playing here? Please talk about Brisbane here. If you want to wage another statistical Fedal war, take it to a separate thread.

Because Front started to compare him (like always) to Nadal, yesterday 7:22 pm

I did not mention Federer first in this thread. Learn to read and go back and read every post from page 1.

AP cited Federer in the previous post. Not that it all matters that much...

Tattletale.. :nono:laydownlaughing.. mrzz, unlike front, I thought you and I was down like four flat tires, No

I have to admit my ignorance on American parlance/slang. I even checked urban dictionary, but I simply cannot get your post -- I am not kidding or being sarcastic, I really can´t! Argh! Damn Nadal fans!

P.S Anyway I wasn´t picking or trying to find the original guilt. But I bothered to check on the mentioned post and yours was just above...

Rafa just lost to Raonic...
Down a break in the deciding set and choking like a dog. He might try to dig deep and win, but I doubt it. Even if he does, Dimitrov will steamroll him in the semis. He looked so good, I don't get it.
Clay it is then.

Is dimitrov coming of age? I hope so.

Now that was a good match for Raonic especially the last 2 sets. When you are a fast court player you should be able to beat someone who is playing percentage tennis on a hard court. Nadal surely will have more chances. His play wasn't bad at all. Optimistically speaking, Nadal should be able to reach the semis at Oz Open if given a 'very' favourable draw.

Clay still remains a great prospect for Nadal. He needs to work more though. Its time to do something about the forehand shanks under pressure. The field is somehow smaller on clay where he can still play great tennis possibly.

Yes, his tennis is very mature now, with a lot of variety in his baseline game and his serving as well. Very impressive. I would like him to go for more on the forehand side, it's still his biggest weapon I believe.
Thiem however, boy oh boy. His shots are so big. He can overpower anyone. There aren't many guys right now who can compete with him. He only ever loses on serving and returning basically. Reminds me of a younger Nadal, even though they are completely different players. Just untouchable from the baseline. He will be very difficult to eleiminate in Asutralia, if he doesn't tire himself out in Sydney. What an idiot.

Like I said before with 24 aces, 222km/h every single serve and consequently 50 winners is a little bit difficult for the opponent to survive and more after come back of an injury even playing more or less well. But it has been a good sign by Nadal, I'm sure that he is going to be ready for the AO. Meanwhile tomorrow Raonic will do not more than 15 aces and I bet that his serve won't work so well, strange things of the sport.

You are right, Dimitrov will kill Raonic tomorrow. Milos doesn't care at all to defend his title. The only thing he cared about is to play 100% against Rafa/Fed. But against Novak or Andy, god forbid he plays a good set. Gets broken at will. I truly hate him, he is such a pu$$y.
But don't worry, this loss wouldn't have happened in Melbourne, the court is much slower and the bounce is higher. Rafa played great this week but just couldn't keep serving well enough. I warned you and AP about this last week.

That's just a bit bleak of an assessment, to be honest. Rafa did well today, as far as the score goes. One break in each set, competitive until the death. And now plenty of practice time before Oz starts. it's ambitious to think he's going to win Oz, but his first priority is to get himself in the mix in matches with the top few players. he's done that here against Raonic, and I expect rafa to take heart, and improve. And I'm not talking about clay, either. He can have plenty of success before clay starts...

What..I am stunned and surprised but not totally disappointed..this was just a tune up..I see the scores and read what you just posted..now Rafa and team know what he needs to work on..it's called getting match tough..no need to fret and run back to the clay..this was Rafa's first appearance in Brisbane, No! All the top seeds or legends has lost last or this week..this wasn't the goal, AO is where the gold is :clap

^Saw the match, it was good and decided on details. Fully agree with Kieran´s post. Only worry for Nadal is that it seems that he felt a bit in the end. Good win for Raonic as he goes to the net a lot and Nadal was passing and lobbing very well. Both player´s bh´s were tested, and Nadal was playing, IMO, a smart percentages game, that would have given him the win on 70% of the times against the same opponent (unless Raonic has in fact reached another level, then it is back to the drawing board).

And of course I was rooting for Raonic.

That's an interesting and fair assessment. Do you think rafa got nervous at any stage? My worry is that he might clam up against big opponents in the later stages of tourneys...
