It looks for some players the age 35 is working well, vamos Feli!

Eventhough I can't stand either guy in terms of their personality or tennis, I'm almost thinking it'd be better after Wimbledon if Nadal were number 1 instead of Murray. At least he's playing well enough to deserve it. Murray is number 1 only by the points cushion from late last year but not for much longer. Truly an embarrassment of epic proportions.

His results have been an embarrassment full stop since becoming number 1. He's more like a number 2 if you catch my drift.

We hope that the players don't start to slip and fall on grass, Kyrgios got the worst fall

It's pretty dry now, and the danger 1st days on grass are over. Unusually hot for the UK but I guess they are used to that.

Have never really noticed him till recently but have enjoyed watching Donald Young lately. I thought the FO doubles were great, for me more interesting than the singles. He played so well in his singles today, looks like a born grass court player, especially the volleys. Now has just lost close doubles match which he had to play with only about 90 mins break after his singles. That's a bit tough with temperatures there over 40c. Will be interested to see his Wimbledon draw.

No less a figure than Johnny Mac marveled at DY's hands after watching him play in juniors.
Donald Young has always been comfortable at net, IMO he turned pro too young and was physically outmatched in his early career and never mentally recovered from that.

Remember watching him play his first pro tournament in San Jose and it stood out how much he needed to beef up.

Interesting. I thought he had great wrist flexibility. His build looks OK to me now though he isn't that tall. But he moves well on grass.

Is it just me or you only hear about Muller during grass court season.

Except for the fact he won Sydney earlier this year, but yeah.

Shapo almost beat Berdych...hard to complain about that result.

Shapo has impressed me a lot. He likes to attack and that is a big plus. His lefty kick serve went over Bird's head sometimes! He needs to make better decisions on the court and he will be a great player. He needs to work on his consistency because you are not always going to be in a position to end a rally in 3 shots or under. I have not seen stats of this but I think vast majority of the longer rallies were won by Bird.

I have a lot of hope for this guy's future...and he has a single hander for a backhand!

Also to a less extent Dustin Brown. Muller's game transfers well to grass, and he's a lefty. But he can be dangerous in early rounds the rest of the year.

It's fair to mention that he had shingles and a wrist injury. Subsequently, I think that the pressure to perform has been exacerbated by inability to perform at the beginning of the year. Unlike Djokovic, who seems to be suffering mostly from some existential crisis.

I don't understand if Muzz has shingles and a wrist injury why he is playing instead to rest, taking at least one month off and coming back more healthy and confident. Playing this way he is not going to get any good results and his confidence will fall down more and more

I believe the shingles and wrist injury are well in the past. I just think it got his debut year as #1 off to a rough start. My point was that it's been hard for him to regain confidence, with the target on his back.

Results from the Queen's Men's Singles Round 2 matches on Wednesday

7-Tomas Berdych (Czech Republic) beat Denis Shapovalov (Canada) 7-6(4) 6-7(4) 7-5
6-Grigor Dimitrov (Bulgaria) beat Julien Benneteau (France) 4-6 6-3 6-4
Gilles Muller (Luxembourg) beat 5-Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (France) 6-4 6-4
Donald Young (U.S.) beat Viktor Troicki (Serbia) 6-3 6-4

Another seed joins the carnage at Queens. Jo Willie makes a sharp exit.

I think DY had a few attitude problems early in his career - probably got too much too early from the USTA - not sure if it was him or his family who were to blame, but he seems to have discovered a new maturity and it's translating into consistency.

I hope it's in the past because otherwise it would be ridiculous to play with that condition
Anyway I hope to see better matches in Wimbledon because what I'm see now it's boring, It looks like playing soccer just shooting penalties

I have to say, I hope Cilic doesn't win it by default. I'd love to see Feli Lopez heft it, but he has a way of blowing it at the last minute.
