Shapovalov has a future. He has the nice serve, very powerful forehand, serviceable backhand. Needs experience. Racked head speed is right up there. He will figure out to use his leftieness to his advantage. With that big forehand, he can be a nightmare for a lot of players.
It is an exciting time to be a Canadian tennis fan (aka @herios), with two legit prospects in Shapo and "the Auger." (You heard those nicknames from my first ;-).
Very good win by Shapo indeed

Sir Andy will offer his prize money to the London infernal tower's victims, very generous from his part

Not a good omen for Kyrgios. Apparently did his hip when slipping on the grass. Hope his withdrawal is more of a precaution than anything severe. Want this guy to be firing on all cylinders at Wimbledon.

Kyrgios was watching Kokkinakis, looked happy and relaxed. It was 40c there, Nick dressed as though he was going skiing.

Congratulations to the Aussies today. Wonderful to see Thompson beat Murray with such guts and class and so happy for Kokkinakis. I loved his interview. Creepy John Inverdale asked him to summarise his injuries - his reply was they are behind him and he's looking forward.

Sadly the BBC team from hell presenting coverage, Sue Barker, Andrew Castle, Inverdale!

Won't be much prize $. He's about to be sent home in the R1.

Hope he does the decent thing and gives money anyway. Don't like the way it was announced, hundreds of celebs and ordinary people are doing so much without press coverage.

Somebody was talking up Stan. Stan went away in the opener to Deliciano as expected.

Stan's game totally baffles me. I first saw him at Queen's 2/3 yrs ago, breathtaking stuff seeing it for real when he was on top form. Amazes me how he can play so brilliantly sometimes and so feebly others.

Murray's forehand was so good today. Crazy pace, incredible topspin and consistency above all.
Fedal would be jealous. Del Potro trembling in his boots.

Murray lost in the first round in a continuing nightmare year for him. An yet another first-round loss at a regular tour event for Stan NOT The Man. That's the 3rd one this year. He's also lost in the 2nd round at 2 other events. His only win is the Geneva open right before the French. And because he has 3 Slams...he's considered a "Hall of Fame" player? Just doesn't seem right when the guy can't play consistent tennis week-in and week-out. 20 year-old Alexander Zverev has as many Masters 1000 titles as Stan NOT The Man. I actually like Stan...but damn...his inconsistency is pathetic.

Sarcasm, Carol.
I could literally be blind and I would still know that Murray's forehand is terrible. It has held him back so much at this point, it's sickening.
There were times when I watched Murray this year, and I thought to myself, I could definitely hit it better in that particular moment. It's a testament to other elements of his game, honestly.

Julien Benneteau (France) beat James Ward (Britain) 6-2 6-2

WTF, This draw is in tatters. Murray nailed by lucky loser Jordan Thompson. Not shocked by Lopez beating Stan - thought it was a toss up. Great win for Kokkinakis.

So, Cilic is headlining this event... hope Queens sold all their tickets in advance.

Definitely he is not going through his best times and game. It seems that to him the #1 is more heavier than a backpack carrying stones
