Another 1st round exit from Sloane Stephens in straight sets 75 61 from fellow Amercian A.Li at the Hobart International.
This is embarrassing, Sloane, quite frankly it is time you really consider retirement, and start a family, at the end of the 2025 season.

why wait til the end of this year? Do you really want to see another 10 months of her going out to nameless scrubs in R1? It was time to pull the ripcord last year. She can't be making a profit. The cost to pay her staff, travel, train and entrance fees, she must be in the red. I wonder if she's hanging on because of some endorsement deal.

Yes she is. As MM said, she did the same thing in her last match. Some bullshit tactics to break the opponent's momentum.
Yep. As @the AntiPusher would say, Bush league stuff. I didn't see the match against Elena, just some quick hilites TTC showed. I watched the first set against Boulter. But she should not be winning any sportsmanship awards, period.

Naomi Osaka announces the end of her relationship with Cordae.
"Hi everyone, just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer in a relationship. No bad blood at all, he's a great person and an awesome dad.Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together".
I don't know why she felt the need to broadcast her personal business. Nobody cares Naomi-me-me. They had already broken up after the kid was born.

Bianca Andreescu, who pulled out of the ASB Classic this past week, will not be competing at the AO in 2025
Andreescu , currently ranked #132 ( outside the main draw) will miss the slam in Melbourne for a second consecutive year
This girl may never get her mojo back. Think back to all the folks who beat Serena in slam finals after her maternity leave:
Kerbie is retired
Simo busted for possession and not likely to get back
Bebe constantly injured and suffering from mental health issues
Naomi dropped a stork and cannot get her groove back

Agree, I think we both said and others she should have retired last year, I dont know why she persists in playing, we all know she is a lazy trainer, maybe you are right, hanging on to a endorsement deal, going out in first round matches wont pay for all her ongoing costs.

I believe she's in a relationship w/ him. It would explain her moody behavior. I also think she could be suffering from some kind of Stockholm syndrome. People around her would know better than us but obviously there is something there and maybe the WTA is required to perform their due diligence if anything is reported. Remember that whole situation w/ the Chinese star Peng Suai.
But Peng went missing, no? Soon forgotten by tennis too, unfortunately. I wonder who reported problems in the Rybakina drama. Like I say, Elena denies there’s an issue, so if she isn’t complaining, who else can? Especially if they were/are in a relationship.

What I’m mostly curious about is the involvement of the WTA, against the players wishes. They might need to be more transparent on this..

Goran Invanisevic was briefly interviewd at the AO and said he cant really make a comment regarding Rybakina decided to re-hire Vukov, until the WTA complete their investigations, I watched a training video of Rybakina yesterday at the AO with Goran in the background
I feel he was blindsided by Rybakina, I really cant see him sticking around if Vukov comes back to coaching Rybakina,
I am certain there are many players on the tour both WTA and ATP that will want his experience as a coach.
I had Rybakina as a potential finalist at the AO, have now changed my mind, due to this 'mess' and drama'

Correct, she did go missing, but if memory serves, it originally started w/ a report or post on social media that she had been mistreated by a high ranking Chinese official. When the WTA tried contacting her, she was nowhere to be found.

In other words, he knows something but is sworn to secrecy. Besides Goran is too classy to spread her business like that. He would likely direct the press to ask her directly. You are right though, I don't see him hanging around too long. He may stay with her through Oz and then tell her take a hike if she can't make up her mind.
