Congratulations to McCartney Kessler who won her 2nd WTA title, against 2 time champion (2017 and 2018) Elise Mertens (2) at the ladies singles final at the Horbart International, powering to win 64 36 60!
Kessler with this win will break into the Top 50!

Adelaide International
Ladies Singles Final
Madison Keys defeated her good friend Jess Pegula in 3 sets 63 36 61 Madison had to have a MTO and came back on court with her thigh heavily bandaged, the bandage seem to work its magic as she won the 3rd set easily.

Petra Kvitova ( who is on maternity leave) is heading soon to the US with her husband/coach Jiri Vanek to practice and then she'll make a decision about her comeback.

I hope those 500 points she earned doesn't add to her demise at the year's first major. I know we talk about it all the time, but this play a week before the big dance is just too risky for folks who are serious contenders.

Agree, I have never been in favor of playing a tournament a week before a major, Jess was going to play Brisbane, then still had a slight problem with her knee, withdrew to play Adelaide, probably wanting match play, I hope Madison's thigh problem will be okay, after she had her MTO, and got it bandaged, it was not a problem.

Glenn Greenwald on Rybakina:

Rybakina ended her partnership with Vukov and came on social medial stating that fact before the USA in 2024, Elena played one match and withdrew from the tournament.Yes, there have been many rumors regarding Elena and Vukov with his type of coaching, eg Pam Shriver.
Rybakina has come out and said Vukov was never abusive towards her. Fair enough.
Who I feel sorry for is Goran, who I feel has been 'blindsided' with Rybakina saying Vukov will be a part of her team for 2025., after ending their partnership before the USO in 2024, and then coming out and saying on social media she has a new coach in Goran Invansevic
Yesterday she said after her first round match that Vukov has been in touch with her regarding her matches.
My question is when the WTA finishes their investigation and they find Vukov innocent of these charges, is Goran going to stay around?
There are many players both on the WTA and ATP would love to have his experience as a coach.

Just turned on TCC Desk round-up! They're so up-to-date on the players where I don't have a clue who TF they are at times; esp. w/ the ladies! Not sure what happened since yesterday, but it appears Martina went all out w/ the make-up! Either someone told her from the Network to do it or she just finished taping a scene w/ her wife on that silly reality show from Bravo, "Real Housewives Of Miami!" I've never seen her w/ such precise eye-shadow placement! Huge upset of Zheng yesterday!:face-with-hand-over-mouth::astonished-face::anxious-face-with-sweat::face-with-head-bandage:

If you followed womens tennis you would know that Laura Siegemund is a very tricky and crafty player, and can and has upset top players? not bad for a 37 year old!

Well, Goran is free again as his trial period of coaching Rybakina has just ended. I'm not suprised really.

I am not surprised either sad to say, I thought she needed a 'fresh voice' after the withdrawals of last year, she has a great game, I would not like to see her just as a One GS Wonder, she is too good of a player

Caroline Wozniacki who has been doing commentary at the AO, she was asked if she would play this year? she said she hopes so, her arthritis has been bothering her.
