After losing match points in the second, Fonseca goes and wins the third 6x1. The world and his dog were sure he would lose by that score, but defying expectations is his bread and butter.

18 year old Fonseca is the youngest Brazilian since 2001 to make ATP final
and the 10th youngest ATP finalist this century! ( I am suddenly feeling very old lol!)

At this point it will be disappointing if he can't pull off the title - it has been such a hard-fought tournament.
Problem is that the long week is taking a toll on him. He was not 100% physically in the third set today. Given that Rio is up next, it is even possible that he withdraws, even if I think it is unlikely.

Well he did take down Zverev the No 1 seed, in 3 sets, that puts a dent in Zverev plans to win RG this year dosent it? :)
He came to the wrong side of the planet anyway. South americans are playing clay tennis down there like someone is trying to snatch food off their table. Zverev is too soft for them. There might be a let down from him for a while after that loss in AO, it has to hurt.

Zverev is playing Rio next, lets see how he goes there, though there will be seasoned clay players in that tournament as well.
I fully expect The Dangerous One to win his SF match against Martinez

He's gone from #145 to #74 and it is mid-February.

The match about to start between Fonseca v The Dangerous One in Beunos Aires
Early nerves from Dangerous One, overly aggressive and Fonseca breaks
Didnt last long break back from The Dagerous One, nerves appear to be with both players at present
