He has this 'easy power; off both wings, his fhand is just world class

Actually, I'm reminded a bit of of Alcaraz early on. It was easy to focus on his incredible speed and athleticism, but then he'd place an amazing drop shop and show remarkable touch and you realized he was more than just an athlete. Fonseca is similar in that his forehand is the obvious star feature, but he can do a lot of other things really, really well.

He can also play drop shots off his fhand and bhand for someone so young, this just adds to the variety he has got in his game

The trap here for Cerundolo is trying to go toe to toe with Fonseca's forehand. His forehand is quite good too, but it is a tad less powerful. He is already paying the price.

Yeah, I was just thinking about that same thing. Cerundolo might win the occasional "forehand battle," but it is bad odds.

I'm not in love with Fonzie's first serve. It is...ok. But he has to work too hard on too many service games. He could use a few "free" points, or at least easy volleys.

Joao also doesn't seem to be as much "winning" this match as Cerundolo making errors. He seems pretty exhausted.

Both players will be tempted to use the drop shot for a variety of reasons, but Cerundolo knows that he cannot keep giving Fonseca a chance to fire a forehand being well positioned and balanced

Agree, it was bad timing for Cerundolo in my opinion, attempting a drop shot from the baseline

Fonzie's forehand actually reminds me a bit of Del Potro's. I don't think it has the spin of Rafa's, or with the variation of Roger, but it has the power/accuracy combo of Delpo.
