She has certainly come into her own, she has the ability to win all 4 majors, just has to watch her margins, and also her focus at times,
I will be interested to see what new coach Iga will have, to me she has become too, 'One Dimensional"

That's why I think she needs Venus as a mentor.. That was the beauty of Venus 'a game she kept her emotions although the calls were made against her. This may be unpopular but Venus by far is the most self composed athlete of any sport.. She is the ultimate role model on the court. Venus has got to be excellent in playing poker.

Well she had to save her reputation after embarrassing herself early on w/ comments about a match or 2 she lost! A couple times she actually poo-poo'd her opponents saying, "she didn't beat me! I beat myself!" I can't recall ever hearing that from an athlete! It's thought about I'm sure, but you never say it out loud! :face-with-tears-of-joy::astonished-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face::yawningface:

Reading the comments from Zheng after her loss to Sabalenka, she may withdraw from WTA500 Hingbo tournament, citing fatique, yes she has a excuse for everything these days, she does have a 1st round bye, she should try to play and get some wins, to cement her place in the last 8 for the end of year championships, lets see if she turns up.

2 late withdrawals for the Ningbo tournament,
Top seeds, Jasmine Paolini withdrew due to a left foot injury
Emma Navarro withdrew due to illness, sad to say that ends Emma's chances of making the finals 8 for the end of year WTA finals.

Seeing Emma Navarro withdrew from Ningbo, which means that the WTA Finals line up is now set,
Top 7 in the Race + Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova.
Navarro should be the first alternative
Badosa or Kasatkina the second. Collins is still injured.

2. Swiatek 8285 (-1)
3. Gauff 5348
4. Paolini 5144

6. Pegula 4705
7. Zheng 4050 (+1)
8. Navarro 3658 (-1)
9. Collins 3176
10. Kasatakina 2928
11. Badosa 2713

WTA 500 Nignbo tournament, which is quickly becoming a disaster with the amount of players who have withdrawn,
Paolini, Navvaro, Samsonova, WC Wang Yafan, Potapova.
Alexandrova is the latest withdrawal, she has been replaced in the draw by Ma.
Haddad Maia has moved up to take Paolini's place in the draw.

Another top seed Zheng has withdrawn from WTA500 Ningbo tournament, though I am not surprised, she was complaining about fatique when she played in the final at Wuhan 1000, she was replaced by LL Cristian, this tournament is now running out of LL :)

Emma is waiting on the sidelines to see if Elena ghosts the finals. Then she can move up a spot w/o having to do any work.

I saw a video of Rybakina actually practicing yesterday, in Dubai, so far she hasnt withdrawn, though I did say earlier, I would not be surprised if she withdrew, a lot of rumors around regarding her ex coach with abuse etc, who she sacked just before the USO.
I know it is the rule, though what has Krejcikova done since she won Wimbledon? to me the other top 7 girls have shown consistency throughout the year to qualify for the WTA finals.

Well, they didn't have the rule in place the year Elena won Wimby so she was excluded because Wimby also didn't award any points that year. We can't take the rule back because Babs hasn't done anything else. She won a slam when 5 of the remaining 8 didn't this year. Have to give her them flowers...

Point taken still consistency for the overall year should be rewarded just my opinion, not just one player winning a GS tournament, and not doing anything after that GS win
Maybe a time to revise the qualification rules for the end of year finals

I don’t understand why she waited so long to get it removed. If I had something “the size of a grapefruit” growing on my neck, I’d be in the hospital stat.
I agree, she was soo lucky,I know she is busy with all her business interests, and being a mum to 2 young children, health must come first, hopefully she has a full recovery.
