Emma Navarro has had back to back R2 losses in Beijing and Wuhan not good news for her WTA Finals hopes and good news for Zheng, they are fighting for the last spot.

Gauff d Linette 60 64, Coco gets her 9th consecutive win, and her 8th WTA1000 SF in Wuhan. Well done Coco!

Coming back from 1 set down, Wang d Alexandrova 46 75 76(6) to make her first WTA1000 SF!

Sabalenka (1) d M.Frech 62 62. Aryna still underfeated in this event, gets her 15 consecutive win in Wuhan, 4th WTA100 SF of 2024!

I did not watch this match

Great first set from Coco Gauff 61 over Sabalenka, I dont think the slower courts of Wuhan suit Saba's game at all, she finds it hard to hit through the court and also Gauf
Gauff W 7 UFE 5 71% points won on serve
Saba W 2 UFE 9 44% points won on serve
Saba needs to lift her first serve and not to commit UFE in the 2nd set, though Coco has just broken her
NOTE Why do they have the first mens SF in Shanghai the same time as the ladies SF in Wuhan Not Happy, trying to watch both UGH!

Going 3 sets as Sabalenka has fought back after being broken early in the 2nd set 64

Coco's serve has gone right off, 18 DFs and counting, she is still fighting hard in this 3rd and final set
Coco breaks back and to serve 3-4, sad to say this match is poor, neither player playing their best at the same time, I thought the way Coco played in the 1st set she would win in straight sets.

Sabalenka d Gauff 16 64 64
Down 16, 2-4
Good effort from Aryna to win the match
4th WTA 1000 final of 2024
Aryna awaits the winner of 2nd SF Zheng v Wang Yinyu

Also, Gauff really needs to work on her attitude and complete lack of game face. She absolutely radiates negativity too often.
Coco is a going in the right direction with her team. She has improved a lot with this new coach.During the off season she can work on her weaknesses.Next year there will be no Olympics or doubles and she would be a year older and wiser. The good thing is that she is a hardworking and ready to change.

Tented,
Gauff has added Matt Daly to her team, they are working with changing her grip on her fhand, which I have been screaming about for over 2 years, Brad did nothing to improve Gauffs fhand, players attack it with ease, knowing it is her big weakness. Also the serve, her 2nd serve needs attention. Gauff had 21 DFs in her SF match, she started well and then?. Give her time with this new team, her fhand and serve will be a work 'in progress' at least this new team is doing something about it, Brad might have been a good tactical coach, but he wasnt a good technical coach, which at this point in time is what Gauff needs.
