Defending champion is Madison Keys who is seeded fourth in the tournament
Three Top Ten Players will compete Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula are seeded No 1 and No 2, Jasmine Paolini is seeded fourth
Karolina Muchova will make her season debut after wrist surgery earlier this year.

Cocciaretto withdrew replaced by Niemier,

Maria Sakkari No 1 seed, who recently split with her coach of 4 months David Witt ( formerly Pegula's coach) form woes continue, as she was defeated in 3 sets, in her 1st match, by J.Niemier who can play on grass, 26 62 76(4). Trying to find out any news on another coach.
Another surprise defeat, Andreescu who was showing solid form on the grass, just after her 2nd tournament back, defeated in straight sets by Blinkova 64 62

Azarenka withdrew (illness) Kalinskaya withdrew both replaced by LL, Townsend and Korpatsch, Noskova and #4 Haddad Maia

Going 3 sets, the match between Svitolina v Woznciacki, quite a close contest, this match has been suspended, due to darkness, on serve in the 3rd set, Svitolina 2-1

Elena Rybakina has withdrawn from Eastbourne
She's been training and looking healthy the last few days, her withdrawal is unrelated to her illness in Berlin? ( stomach pain)
Maybe she is now allergic to grass
I will wait for the 'official reason of her withdrawal this time?
Quite frankly I am over Rybakina, sad thing is she can play great tennis, these constant withdrawals from tournaments, is doing herself no favors at all,

Offical reason why Rybakina withdrew, due to a change of schedule, which is basically meaningless
Harriet Dart will now play LL Sofia Kenin
