Meddy the defending champion, loses 900 points, as he didnt defend his title,.If Zverev wins the title he would bump Meddy out of No 4 ranked,.That would be huge for Zverev at RG, as he would get his own quarter.
A good result for the US men playing in Rome 2 players Fritz and Paul making the QFs.

Tay has so much confidence playing on the dirt because he made the commitment to come over early. He's made no less than the QF of each event he's played in.

Only three of the top 10 seeds make the QF.
And an American is still in the Italian Open. Any question that Roland Garros is going to be the Wild West this year? Sorry...at least on the men's side?

Tabilo backed up his win over Novak with a win over Khachanov. Long 2nd set TB.
And he just beat Zhang. This kid is on fire. I know highlights can be misleading, but some of the shots he made against Novak were top player stuff. Now concussion or not for Novak, he got beaten and was not able to hang with a red hot opponent.

Looks like Zed grazed his left hand especially on his fingers, appears okay, just toweling off the dirt on his body

Claylor has the wrong game plan today. Zed is the wrong one to rally w/ from the baseline. He needed to s/v or mix up the pace. Something other than baseline rallies that he will not have a high % of winning

I just cant get into Zed matches regardless who he plays, he does have a good chance in Rome of making the final, if he wins he takes over the No4 spot from Meddy

I'd love to see Tabilo pull this off, and against Zverev he has a solid chance. I'd probably give him about a 40% chance, though. Maybe a bit less against Tsitsipas, and a bit more less against Hurkacz. If he somehow faces Paul or Jarry in the final, I'd favor Tabilo.

Tsitsipas v Jarry QF, will be a test for Stef, also Jarry leads their H2H 3-2, though I am leaning towards Stef in a close match
Hubi v Paul QF, H2H 1 all, I will go with Paul just for the fun of it :) in other words I have no idea who will win.

Hurkacz was 0-2 down and point for a double break, but wins 6 of the last 7 games to force a decider against Paul

Tommy having a rough go, down a break. Hubie is having a good tournament.
I am cheering for Paul :) I am not a fan of Hubi, though to my suprise he is having a good run in Rome, Paul had the chance to win in straight sets,
