I'm not truly concerned about if Rafa wins gold but how well he can get his game back to his highest levels while remaining completely healthy if that is possible at this stage. I agree his serve is looking better but he will need to add 8-10 mph on his first serve if he cant hit his spots. BTW what is his PR?
Rafa's PR ranking is 9 which allows a player to enter up to 9 tournaments. PR does not allow you to be seeded in a tournament. As Nadal was in the top 10 it does open the doors to any tournament eg receiving wild cards.

MM, I have to agree with you about Stefanos game. I think he needs to get a better coach like someone that has worked with Roger or Stan.. We knew the Poo wasnt going to help his game. I would suggest Becker.
May I ask why Boris Becker? though I must say to me he is looking for another coaches job, he is always tweeting what players should be doing etc on court

Zverev No 1 seed in Hamburg was still unsure if he could play his first round singles match as in his warm up he was in a lot of pain with his knee, he won his match 62 62 over Jesper de Jong
I have to question him is it worth it? your knee isnt getting any better with that nasty fall at Wimbledon, though you are intent on playing this tournament and the Olympics, your choice I guess.

Becker is very knowledgeable about the game (like him or hate him). Boris knows what it takes to win championships and to be #1.

I am not disputing that fact? though could he/or would he fit in with Stef and what are we to do with Stef's father for starters?

Newport will stay on the calendar next year but as a combined Challenger/WTA125 during the second week of Wimbledon.
This is the last year of the event an ATP250.

Just like numerous of other men and ladies tennis players.. Stef's father would have to a back seat and let the coach lead while he keeps being part of his son's support system.

Rinse and Repeat,
Stef has said numerous times his father is the best coach for him? unless Stef cuts the apron strings of his dad I cant see him appointing a new coach anytime soon.
The only reason they appointed Mark P he is a close family friend also being Greek that also helped at lot.Mark P did nothing to improve Stef's game just like his dad

Stef will regret being so foolish and his results will NOT be too much better than Grigor career

PR is protected ranking for players who were out due to injury.

PR would also have been Dominika Cibulkova aka pocket rocket cos she was so small, not cos she gave the guys one :face-with-tears-of-joy:
I have to say that I'm grateful you said this. I heard Paolini called "Pocket Rocket" during the finals, and I was trying to remember who the original one was. (I try to ignore the rude connotation. LOL.)

Murray has had a very commendable career! He got the most out of the game he "decided" to play back at the beginning almost 20 years ago! Like Graf decided in '87 to play a heavily baseline game, Murray who had a more attacking game early on decided to do the same! I think he'd gotten more out of his efforts if he had attacked just a little bit more! He allowed lower ranked players to extend him to the limit to win early round matches all too often! To this day I blame his defensive game on draining him at the 2016 FO going 4 & 5 sets against a double's specialist qualifier, WC, & 2 big servers w/ nullified weapons on clay! By the time Murray got to the final, his game was at its best taking the 1st set from Novak trying to complete his Nole-Slam for the 2nd time in cons, years! Andy was done, flashing only a little energy breaking Novak's serve late in the 4th set to extend the match a little longer! His greatest achievement was stealing the YE #1 ranking picking up any 500 level event late in the season he could get to costing him a hip or 2! He's never been the same; still trying to play his defensive game against these youthful players! He's truly embarrassed himself here at the end! He can survive an early 1st round only to get kicked in the teeth in round 2 or 3! Just not how a past #1 would want to go out IMO! His last gasp was at Wimbledon! His Olympic effort won't amount to much more than being a 2 time OGM winner & symbol! If not for the Big 3 he would/should have done more and at least matched Edberg, Becker, Wilander, or McEnroe! Connors, Lendl, or Borg territory? I don't see it! :face-with-head-bandage: :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :astonished-face: :fearful-face:

What is happening with Rublev? He lost early at Wimbledon and now in Baastad?
