Wu is very good, and John thought he will blow him off the court. The kid has a very good serve and bh.The match was unbelievably good and looking forward to seeing more of him at other events..

Isner's like Doc IVO; just barely hanging on w/ a serves and hoping to squeak by winning Tie-Breakers! Just plain unwatchable IMO; even his past upsets of Federer & Agassi! He'll wind up being "the guy who lost 2 of the most classically long matches" in Wimbledon history! You recall Mahut & 70-68 in the 5th? Then there's the SF vs Anderson in 2018, 26-24 (5th) announcing Novak's return to #1 after a 2017 of en oui! :astonished-face: :fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy:

Yes it's like watching paint dry with the tall one.Wu confused John he was being made to lumber from corner to corner. Its not enough these days to rely on just a big serve..

He had more to his game, but eventually just started relying on holding serve & taking TB's! It's just plain ugly scoring dealing w/ the guy! :fearful-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Just got back home,

Well done to WU, I had to leave midway though the 3rd set
Wu's ability to take the ball early, hug the baseline and inject pace off both wings is remarkable.Movement sharp too, also hits his fhand sharp cross court with angle.A talented player, hopefully he stays injury free.
I loved his presser when he said he had to face a 100 Aces from Isner LOL! Wu actually it was 44 Aces
Well done young man!...Wu is the first Chinese player to win a ATP title!
With this win Wu will be #58.

If Wimbledon is caving on that, then they should give in on the whites. It's hard to buy their "tradition" BS if they're not going to stand firm on no coaching. Strawberries and cream, and Pimm's Cup are window-dressing. Keep mowing that grass, but let's not pretend that everything is so sacrosanct there, if they give in on this one.
Please that is a minor thing to give way to whites? are you serious lol! I never thought I would see the day when coaching from the stands is allowed both the WTA and now the ATP, it is a sad day for tennis quite frankly.at all the GS slams, what is next changing the best of 5 to the best of 3 at GS? there are many people trying to push that argument by the way.

My point is that if they are going to give way to coaching, they have no leg to stand on, in terms of their "hallowed" traditions. That is my opinion.

That is your opinion, the main point of allowing coaching in my opinion and others, it is a sad day for allowing coaching from the stands, tennis is an individual sport, it is up to a player to be able to work out things on a court if they are not going their way, especially at this level.

Jannik Sinner defeats Mazime Cressy 76 (3) 63 for the Montpellier title. His 7th career title in 8 finals., he needed a good week, he will return to the Top 15.
That is clutch from him, 7 out of 8. His problem seems to go far in stronger tournaments, but he is still very young.

Agree, he has to be able to play the big points in GS stronger, he had all those BPs against the Young Greek at the AO and could not convert them, he has the game, hopefully he can improve in those area's

A 3cm hamstring tear? Where have we heard this one before. Humbert must be a complete wimp. A 3cm hamstring tear? Pfft! That wouldn't hurt anyone, FFS...:popcorn

Watched FAA defending champion in Rotterdam earlier, he made a great start in his title defense defeating Songego 62 63
After a slow start, Daniil Medvedev found his game and it was a much needed win, in 3 sets over Davidovich Fokina 46 62 62

What a Story!

33 year old Matija Pecotic, who has a full time job as the Director of Capitol Markets for a real estate investment company, beats former top 10 Jack Sock 46 62 62 for his first career ATP win. ( Delray Beach Open ) Already had a couple of great wins in qualifying.

So, basically the Magda Linette of the men's tour? (The only difference is that the men's tour is very deep at the top, and there's no path for Pecotic to make a run to a slam semifinal.)

No, Magda Linette is a full time player, Pecotic is not, there is no comparison at all, just take the story for what it is okay lol!
