I am watching a mens match on court 1 sorry, no rain, though apparently the weather forecast said there will be rain about?
Weird. I just tuned in to see Plisko under the roof. Normally they don't close it unless it starts to rain.

Strange? maybe they are taking a early precaution, outside courts are fine at the moment

Tuning into Pliskova v Boulter match...Katie is the g/friend of Aussie Alex de Minaur
4 all 3rd set...Katie has 2 BPs
Wow Boulter breaks Pliskova and she will serve for the match 5-4

Boulter will play the winner of Tan vs SST

Wow Karolina is gone, she has been subpar all year long. She always has an opinion about high achievers and today you played like a senior
I strongly suggest Karolina and Garbine go on a long holiday together both ladies have been sub par all year

The last thing they need w/ this subpar play is more time off. They both need a bootcamp that includes psych sessions, FH prep, serve motion refinement and how to close a match.

Apparently Garbine has come out on her twitter page and apologized to her fans for her sub par performance this year?
BTW I was only joking about both players going on a holiday..

Halep beating Flipkens, brings an end to Flipkens singles career as she is retiring after Wimbledon she said at the start of the compeition. Flip is still in the doubles section of the draw.
Good luck in your retirement Flip I know you loved the grass

Just think we could have Serena v Pliskova in R3....instead we have Tan v Boulter? that is tennis for you

I agree, that kind of comment has no place in a Tennis Forum. Throw in a Y chromosome, that is really not kind. I think we can all do a little better, be a little kinder to each other. It's a tough world out there folks, I don't have tell anyone that but comments like that can only mess with an individual's head. Like Margaret said, "stick to actual tennis'"!
Thanks Ellentonboy for your comment, that poster rarely contributes on women's tennis, such a 'distasteful comment' hopefully the poster stays off the WTA post for good.I will continue to call out for any distasteful comments in the future. This is a tennis blog for starters, not for comments like that.

Concern should still be there though! No one wants to be called/labeled a "one hit wonder!" At least when Iva Majoli won hers in Paris, it made history by stopping Martina Hingis from achieving a CYGS in '97! There is a difference! Sorry to say so far it's looking like Emma's USO's an accident more than anything else! Od course she has plenty of time to change that! Watching the repeat now and some low-life POS in the crowd applauded the 1st pt. from a double fault by Garcia! More Karma to go along with Murray defeat?:astonished-face: :shushing-face::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:
I think many non slam winners wouldn't mind being called one slam wonders! Emma also made history 1st qualifier to ever win the US Open without dropping a set ;) See how she gets on over the next 5 years or so, if she doesn't win anymore slams then maybe people calling it a fluke might be right, but I hope not...
