Nick K feeling confident about his Wimbledon chances,

"I just know if I'm serving well and I'm playing well, I can beat anyone.I have pretty much beaten everyone in the draw before".
I don't put to much stock in whatever comes out of Nick's mouth. Have you heard him ever utter a single word afters the 10 day of a grand slam?

This is not a surprise T. I just got back from a trip and let me tell ya, no one wears a mask. Everyone thinks covid is over.
Same here in Miami, no one wears the mask so we'll see if it's going to work correctly or soon we'll come back to those bad times

I've read that a few days ego Berrettini, Cilic and Novak had a dinner together, I can't believe that Novak without being vaccinated could be the virus carrier? it would be too much!

We were discussing that yesterday Carol, after Cilic was practicing with Novak, you would think for safety reasons Novak will go and get a test for COVID, to be on the safe side.I am certain that Rafa knows that Matteo has withdrawn and Rafa has always been sensible regarding COVID, for safety reasons Rafa will get tested .

I'm suspecting they're getting tested by the tournament, and that this isn't random. Cilic was sick, but Berrettini doesn't say anything about that, just that he tested positive. And someone above wrote that it was good on Matteo to do the right thing and withdraw, but I do not believe he had an option. I don't think this was a "home test and a valiant gesture." Don't you think it has to be the tournament controlling these things?

Agree, the tournament director at Wimbledon has now have to put a 'plan in practice' and make all players have routine COVID tests either daily or every other day and also Masks to be worn at all times around the courts and on practice courts etc. COVID is running high in London at present.

I'm sorry, you're not requiring people to be vacc, and yet you don't have a testing policy already in place. How many players have to withdraw before they require daily negative testing?

I know they relaxed the rule for players not needing to be vaccinated this year, still I feel they need now to put a plan in practice, before this gets out of hand that is all. Mask wearing to be mandatory again for starters and to introduce COVID testing for all players., either on a daily basis, or every other day

In the UK it's ridiculous, all restrictions ended last summer, things have moved on to a living with covid times. People are allowed to go anywhere even if they have the virus :face-with-symbols-on-mouth:
That's just the thing. The endemic means learning to live with it. You still have to take precautions when you go in public or around a large gathering. You can't just wind the clock back like it's 2019. Which is what people are doing.
