It's bad luck for him. I think unfortunately he could be the first of possibly many. Covid is spreading fast round London atm. Not sure what the rules are, does a positive covid tests means the players out? Or can they play if they feel ok?

If Cilic isn’t playing, I imagine it’s because they wouldn’t allow him to play. He seems like he would play if he was allowed and feeling ok.

We have another wave at the moment in the uk. Cases are apparently 270k a day. Rising numbers are being put down to the Jubilee parties & the variants which are apparently spreading very easily. Cases expected to rise higher with summer events such as Wimbledon.

No restrictions, expect for wearing masks on public transport, ( plane travel) hospitals

I'd let everyone get an edit with this withdrawal, if I ran that site, but I don't. I only just fuss at everyone to PLAY the draw.

The good news is that almost everyone will have the same problem in that part of the draw. Unless someone picked Cilic to go out early.

Agreed. Whatever protocols have gone by the wayside, hopefully that is not one of them. Cilic is sick, but even asymptomatic and positive should be disqualifying, I would hope.

No, but I heard them say that Alcaraz had 30 aces today, beating his on PR of 12 or something. That kid does learn fast.
