South African tennis player Kevin Anderson has retired from tennis today.Kevin's highest ranking was No 5, won 7 ATP titles and reached 2 GS finals.

Hard to believe that can be a significant hightlight of a players' career; making a couple major finals! We've been truly spoiled rotten! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :face-with-tears-of-joy::partying-face:

Has LeMonf vs Novak reached Vitas Gerulatis/ Jimmy Connors level? Mrs Monfils should make him sleep on his in-law's couch. He should be ashamed of himself.

Not really breaking news,
Berrettini, Medvedev and Fritz are all out of Rome, which definitely sets the clock a tickin on their fitness for RG

Berrettini is more than likely out of RG as he wants to prepare for the Grass and defends his Wimbledon finalist points from 2021.

Fritz is 50/50 at this point. I just think it depends on whether or not he wants to use RG as match fitness going into Wimbledon (ala Federer in the last couple of years). I do expect him to be a dangerous dark horse at Wimbledon IF he keeps his level before his break from tennis.

As for Medvedev, he is definitely a wild card. The Wimbledon ban decision will hurt him in terms of getting match fitness and preparation, so I can somewhat see him play RG just to get some matches too. At the same, he does not like Clay at all and he just had back hernia surgery, so it is probably not a wise decision to immediately play RG after an injury.

I have a feeling the Wimbledon ban changed his mind.

I am hoping and praying that Nadal lands in Medvedev’s half at RG and Alcaraz lands on Djokovic’s half or in Zverev’s quarter.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but Marian Vajda is now coach of Alex Molcan, a slovakian player. It comes as a surprise as I was under impression that Vajda was tired of traveling.

Hi Don yes I did post that news a few days ago..I also was surprised, though he is not the head coach, so maybe he will limit his traveling time.Karol Beck is Moclan's main coach

It does imply, doesn't it? that there was disagreement with Novak and Vajda. If he's willing to be secondary coach and travel part-time, he could have done that with Novak. Clearly, they had a basic disagreement. IMO, anyway.

Cleary there was more to the break up, I guess both parties Novak and Vajda are keeping their cards close to their chest and I dont think either will disclose 'what was the main reason for the break up"
