??

99.99 % of all professional tennis players never achieve that distinction.

Will miss Kevin.
Indeed. Folks can get so blasé about what a player achieves, in this era, especially. Anderson had a career to be proud of.

It does imply, doesn't it? that there was disagreement with Novak and Vajda. If he's willing to be secondary coach and travel part-time, he could have done that with Novak. Clearly, they had a basic disagreement. IMO, anyway.
Maybe Vajda was concerned about Novak's unvaccinated status for his family health.

Perhaps. it does seem clear that they didn't agree on the vaccination thing, for whatever reason. (General health or tennis options.) It is said that they didn't agree on playing the Olympics. It is also clear that Novak has sent coaches packing over disagreements. Agassi said he couldn't see eye-to-eye with him; he fired Vayja once before in favor of Pepe Imaz. Djokovic has very strong ideas, and some are a bit odd, IMO. He seems to be a my-way-or-the-highway kind of a guy. That said, Ivonesovic doesn't seem like anybody's fool, so I'm sure with the old team and Goran Djokovic will do well.

Maybe this is the best form of flattery. .

This is the most pressure I seen Andy put on Roger in a match

Absolutely they did. It’s been suggested it was because Novak didn’t get vaccinated but that would be unlikely to split them. I think it was because of the humiliation Team Djoker suffered due to Novaks dishonesty and actions in Australia…

Is anybody shocked that most player/coach teamups in tennis break up eventually?

I realize there were breaks in between and Vajda wasn’t always Novak’s main coach…
Regardless of the reason(s) it was highly unusual in that being a non family relationship situation, the Vajda/Djokovic tandem lasted as long as it did.

I suppose the bigger shock is that Novak now has Goran as his main coach. Does this strike anyone as inspired?

Marian always said he would coach again.I dont know what the fuss is all about lol!

It’s current news, because it relates so much to Novak and where he is, and where he’s coming from. And most importantly, where he’s going.

Does anyone here think that Goran is their idea of a head coach for a goat? I like Goran, he’s nutty and explosive and passionate but I don’t see him as being deep. I think Novak will miss Marjan, though maybe, like Roger, he’s capable of collecting his own course?

Well I think Goran has helped Novak with his serve? they appear to get on.Remember Novak fired his whole team at one stage and then got back with Marion, I think that weirdo Pepe had a lot to do with it lol!
To date Novak appears happy with his current team, there has been rumors he was looking for another coach to replace Marion, even Patrick M was mentioned, though to me they would never be a good fit.Novak has has some good coaches in the past?.Personally speaking Marion and Novak were the best fit, I also feel there is more to their latest parting of the ways,I dont think we will never know the real reason.

Yeah, I’d love if he took on Patrick M, it’d be ideal. :lol6:

Novak has a chequered history with coaches. Pepe was a beauty, kiss the crowd Novak, love thine opponent, aid them in their struggle! What a chap. Marjan came back on the condition that Novak stick Pepe in a shuttle to the stars, but also that Novak remember that tennis is a sport for warriors.

Goran might get that bit right, I can imagine him effing and blinding before the match to gee up his charge, but as we’re aware, the great coaches know more than this.

But you know, I think the Big 3 have immense tennis intelligence, and Novak might not miss Marjan, not because he has Goran but because he’s Novak. He might be more self reliant than Rafa in that regard, just like Roger always was…

Maybe Djokovic is looking to improve his serve as he gets older to try and end points quicker which might be why he added Goran.

Novak has a bit of a tell where he going to serve too.Jim Courier's analysis during his match vs Alverez. I'm quite sure Rafa's team has picked up on it and it could provide an added plus at Womb if Nadal plays.
