I kind of feel with Thiem that his struggles are terminal, and unfortunately he’ll go the way of del Potro, but at a lower level. He’ll fade out. It’s a great pity because he was a genuinely game player, wonderful shot maker. More substance to him than Tsitsipas and Zverev, potentially a winner of one or two more slams…

Matteo Berrettini has received a wild card into Naples, he will need it after his poor performance in Florence, Matteo stay away from the pizza's, Naples is the home of Pizza, my favorite place to eat pizza.
Is the pizza in Naples better than Florence and Venice @MargaretMcAleer ?..I have visited those two cities and Rome acourse but didn't get an opportunity to make it to Naples.

Naples in my view is the best, Rome is a short crust piizza, Naples pizza is light and higher crust than Rome, it just comes down to your own personal perference

Naples is world-famous for its pizza. It's why the US has good pizza. I think even Italians agree that Naples has the best.

I hope that's not so, and you are wrong, but it's pretty 60/40 at best he comes back to winning form. I completely agree there is more substance to him than Tsitsipas or Zverev. Or Dimitrov, if he matters any more, but as some would have Thiem straddling the Lost Gen and the Next Gen. Put Nishikori in there as one who had game, but too many injuries.

I saw the last set of Norrie v. Karatsev in Stockholm earlier today. Norrie was down a break, but got it back and pulled out the win. Neither is especially young, but Norrie has been trending by a lot. Karatsev, with his quirky game and big win over Novak in Belgrade, c. 2021, has not really lived up to potential. Still, he's fun to watch.

Antwerp has a fascinating line-up tomorrow:

Korda v Nishioka
Hurkacz v Thiem
Gasquet v Goffin
Evans v FAA

In Naples today, Berrettini looked in fine form over Carballes Baena, and Fognini looked good, too. Musetti still in.

Also, some good matches in Sweden.

I’m rooting for Thiem because he could use a big scalp confidence booster, but head says very tough ask.

Totally agree. But Hurkacz hasn't been so interesting, of late. I'm sure Thiem knows this is a big match for him. He really needs this win.

Kei Nishikori has suffered a serious ankle sprain while practicing, his team has advised him to take up to 3 to 4 weeks off. Kei has decided to end his season now in order to have a good off season training block in December.

He's been called "Glassikori" for a reason. I can't think of one really near-career ending injury like DelPotro, Thiem, Wawrinka, Murray, even Zverev, but it just seems never to stop with him. I do feel he has passed his sell-by date.

Agree, if Kei keeps getting injured in 2023, I feel he has to think seriously about retirement.
