This opinion piece from my local paper (thus by a potential Kyrgios fan) summaries nicely infantile personality that IMO does not deserve to be a major winner:
Nick Kyrgios might never get a better chance to win a major than this US Open, but lost in a quarter-final. He took it out on his racquet.

I have stated here in the past that Kyrgios' tantrums were an egotic reaction of an immature child who were denied a candy: always on display when he loses. Everything is beautiful "I love you guys, hope you enjoyed it" only when he wins. And his last two matches strongly confirmed my opinion.. Fist an idiot shot, which luckily cost him nothing, then finally when his infantile tactic (relying heavily on opponent distraction rather than on technically outplaying him) didn't work, we've seen 100% of infantile Kyrgios: smashed racquets left for someone else to clean up. What a disgrace, should I say!
It's strange that people like him against all of that (even I at some point I wished him luck maybe because he is a fellow Oz) but the reality quickly revised my mind: after the idiot shot I thought: no, a player so dumb does not deserve to win a major. And surely the last event of racquets smashed and left for the cleaners strongly supports this view. Hopefuly the fans will embrace it and more importantly, the players will learn from Karen's example how not to get distracted on the court by infantile narcissist tactics and how to dispatch him.
