Fed's a goner. I had a bad feeling about this match 'cos Mannarino is very consistent off both wings and doesn't miss much and Fed has been well below par since RG. Only finished work in the last 20 minutes so was just following scores.

I won't take any bows yet, but the Fed fans needed a reality check! They were predicting great things for some reason! It was if they didn't remember his limited play and poor results! Insane! Hopefully they'll recover and be a part of this world where old men have a limited shelf-life in sports! They can't be at the top forever; even on their favorite surface!

No Olympics and no US Open and retirement on the cards maybe if he loses. It'd be sad to see after all the "the season starts with Wimbledon" talk. If he can't get out of the first round here he's unlikely to fare well at the USO. Even if he somehow manages to win this and tbh it's still quite possible if he wins this set quickly, not like a 5 set opening round match sets the tone well for the rest of Wimbledon.

That's a good performance so. Forgot to check scores but honestly my gut feeling was both Medvedev and Murray would lose in the first round. Hopefully Medvedev wins.
