Who do you like of the new names?some new names in the qf then.. and some slightly older names.
happy to see faa and shapo making a run..Who do you like of the new names?
Yes, I think this is the biggest Canadian stand at W in forever. Though I will be backing Berrettini, myself. And Shapo.happy to see faa and shapo making a run..
not seen much of hurkacz so i will see him for first time vs fedster.
Unlikely. Fun and games for ol' Fucsovic are probably over.had no idea how old djoko opponent was. will be 30 next feb,
fun and games for him vs mr world no1 on center court. hope djoko lets him win a few points at least.
I know, but he disappeared like a Jack Sock for next 3 months. He didn't come out of nowhere - he won the Miami Masters this year.
I may have gone the rest of my life without thinking of him.I know, but he disappeared like a Jack Sock for next 3 months.
I got it - clever.I know, but he disappeared like a Jack Sock for next 3 months.
Here's the deal...it doesn't matter what Hurkacz did on clay. He's got a game for grass and he just took out world #2. I didn't see so much of their part 1 match, but in their part 2 Hurkacz did all of the things right that you should do on grass, and Medvedev retreated. It's going to be interesting to see him play Roger. HH has a huge serve, Roger has a reliable spot serve. Roger is excellent at the net. HH was comfortable there v. Medvedev, who has happy to stay back about 3 meters behind the baseline. New deal tomorrow.I got it - clever.
But yeah, Hurkacz went out early at all the big clay tournaments. In fact, he only won won his first match at Monte Carlo, but went out in the 1st round at the other three clay Masters and at RG. And then he lost in the 1R of Stuttgart to a wild card I've never heard of. Maybe he's streaky. He did beat a bunch of good players at Miami, in reverse order: Sinner, Rublev, Tsitsipas, Raonic, Shapo, Kudla. That's an impressive head-count for one tournament.
I know you invested in FAA years ago, but Berrettini is the real deal on grass this year, and I hope he makes the final. The most exciting QF is Felix vs. Berretini. I hope Felix pulls it off, but my money would be on Matteo (who I also like).
Shapo vs. KK: I think Shapo is finally taking his game up a notch and will take this one. Another win consolidates his top 10 ranking, I think, unless Felix or Hurkacz were to somehow win the tournament.
Roger vs. Hurkacz. I'm a bit worried, but Roger should be able to handle him. But I wouldn't be surprised if Hubert pulls out an upset on the old man.
Novak vs. Fucs...no comment. I mean...
FAA vs Matteo Berretino..the battle of the cousins boyfriends.I know you invested in FAA years ago, but Berrettini is the real deal on grass this year, and I hope he makes the final.
Shapo v. KK: I don't think anyone has missed that I don't care so much for KK. But Brad Gilbert and others were making the argument that Denis the Menace might be the biggest obstacle for Novak. (OK, they have to gin up some interest.) Powerful lefty, less scar tissue. KK has beaten him on a big stage, though. I don't care. Go, Shapo!
I gave my assessment of Ol' Wodge v. Hubie above.
Novak v. Fucsovic:
It is a sloppy match honestlyDjokovic trying hard to give the break back, but Fucsovic can't seem to seal the deal.
Djokovic's playing down to the level of his opponent! He obviously got bored up 5-0, then Fusc. started keeping the ball in play making set close! It is a sloppy match honestly
