they (bbc henman/inverdale) said federer was the oldest qf in open era ?..i presume they meant at wimbledon,?

surely pancho gonzalez was around 40th burfday reaching fo sf in 1968. conners was 39yrs and a few weeks at us91.rosewall b dec1934 obv in wim/uso finals 74. so just younger than fed.

whatever..fed hit some classic fh and bh winners. only 4 aces although not a problem if service winners are...umm..winners.

If he reaches the final, he'll be the oldest finalist in the Open Era of any Slam. Ken Rosewall was 39 and 9 months at the 1974 US Open, and 2 months younger at Wimbledon of that year.

And of course if he (somehow) wins it, he'll be the oldest GS winner of the Open Era, beating Rosewall's 1972 AO (37 yrs, 1 mo). He's already the oldest Wimbledon winner from back in 2017 when he was 35 yrs and almost 11 months.

And Fucsovics realized it's not that bad to face Rublev, not at all.
FAA finally with a good result, QF. That includes Shapovalov and came out of nowhere Khachanov (what a joke of 5th set he and Korda played, thousand breaks of serve). Berettini is storming through everyone.

Medvedev in early trouble v. Hurkacz, down that early break. Hoping for Meddie, here, but Hubie playing some really good grass tennis on this return to play.

Med doesn't have a game for grass yet. I overestimated him and put him to reach final. He will probably lose today, if not he will go down by Fed.

He went down today miserably, without the shot fired. Congrats to Hurkacz, yet another came out of nowhere to reach QF.
The stop seemed to hurt him and help HH. DM was the better player yesterday. Today Hurkazc was more aggressive, and Daniil was not nearly as good as yesterday.

Maybe if they changed the match to CC as it was vacant the match would have been completed yesterday, agree with Moxie,Med was playing better yesterday. No 2 Med never got to play on CC in his previous matches which I think was a disgrace by the officials

James Blake picked FAA . ..other than that is Felix is against the world ..( expert's picks) jajaja
That was classic TC going with the Canadian because there are no US players to back. I haven't seen anything but highlights and scores of Babycakes, but he looks like the top player in the bottom half so far.

He didn't come out of nowhere - he won the Miami Masters this year.
