Felix is going have to do something special and clean up his FH to defeat Sacha..This may be his defining moment early in his young career. He has got to try to close his open stance FH..he gets too careless with that part of his game..Sacha may give it back to him on his service.
Boris Becker said Felix service for the match was probably the most important of his young career. .

We now have the eight Round-of-16 matches:

Novak vs. Garin. I like Garin, but he doesn't stand a chance. At most he makes a set interesting, but I think gets team-rolled. Hope I'm wrong, though!

Rublev vs. Fucsovics. Marton is a bit of a tricky Fuc and has beaten some big names at slams, including Medvedev at RG last year, but Rublev has really solidified his place as a bonafide top 10 guy, somewhat surprisingly becoming one of the more consistent players on tour (77-20 since the beginning of 2020), and will be hard to beat. I think Rublev has this one.

Khachanov vs. Korda. Remember when KK was one of the first breakout Next Genners with that Masters in 2018? He seems to have faded. While he's probably the favorite, I really like Korda, who may be the USA's best chance at a top player, so am giving this to Sebastien.

Shapovalov vs. Bautista Agut. I'm not sure Shapo will ever take that next step to become an elite player, but he's still only 22. I'll give him the edge, but it could be close. A classic talent vs. experience matchup.

Berrettini vs. Ivashka. Ivashka's had a nice, under-the-radar run, but I think it stops here. Berrettini is a darkhorse to win a Slam one of these years, and his game suits grass, so why not Wimbledon? If he improves his defense he could be tough.

Auger-Aliassime vs. Zverev. On paper, Sascha. But to quote Mulder, I want to believe. FAA is due for a breakout Slam performance, and this could be it.

Federer vs. Sonego. Norrie was more of a concern than Sonego, so I think Roger's got this one. I'm a bit more concerned about his QF opponent, though...

Medvedev vs. Hurkacz. This could be the match of the tournament so far. Medvedev is not known for his grass play, but he did just win at Mallorca. On the other hand, Hurkacz is dangerous, having won Miami Masters earlier this year. I'm going with Daniil, although wouldn't be surprised with an upset.
5-2 so far, 6-2 if Medvedev wins. A bit disappointed in Rublev, but as I said above, Fucs is tricky. Similarly, I didn't expect Korda to win, but mostly just wanted him to. He made things interesting and the upside looks good.

Very happy to see FAA win. Could be huge for his confidence. Berretini will be tough, but it should be a good match.

Why couldn't they move Med match to CC and it would be finished
Med No2 has not had a match on CC and he should not have been on Court 2 to begin with.

yes he has not been lucky with court assignments...Felix today played like man and refused to lose to Sasha.
Felix will not have the extended rallies that he have vs Sacha today against Matteo's ground strokes..I think he will use more variety and try to make the game uncomfortable for KSkate's pretty boy toy ...

Listen, I like FAA a lot and I'm glad he came good to make his 1st slam QF, but babycakes will be playing the SF on Friday.

Hmmmnnn.Lets wager on this .if FAA wins you have to become a Rafa fan until the end of the USO..if Matteo win , I will become a Roger fan until the end of the last major for this year.

FAA matches up better vs Matteo than he does Sacha..I saw last year during one of those tennis series in France that Felix could be very competitive with Sacha although it was just an exhbo.
Matteo and Felix are best friends...Matteo has to leave their friendship in the locker room
