Rafa Nadal has withdrawn from Acapulco tournament citing his back problem.
I prefer to label them "muscular challenged walking appendages."Simon is 36 years old I believe,I have seen him playing live,we used to call him 'chicken legs' lol!...agree he had no real weapon,he is a pure defensive player, frustrating to play against, given his age,it would not surprise me if he retires.given this pandemic is still going to prove obstacles for tennis players this year, some tournaments will have to cancel if they cannot have the proper protocols of COVID in place, some tournaments will have no fans, meaning prize money will be reduced.,also some players do not want to have to go into 'a bubble' before playing a tournament.
Agree.I prefer to label them "muscular challenged walking appendages."
Giles is 36 so even without the pandemic I'm sure he's at the age where he was wondering if he wanted to continue on the tournament grind regardless.
OF course Simon has grossed over 15 million in tennis earnings for his career so yes, he has the luxury.
I'm hoping this is precautionary to make himself ready for the clay season. It's a drag if he's really still having back issues.Rafa Nadal has withdrawn from Acapulco tournament citing his back problem.
If it turns out this way it's not like he planned it. Did he plan to lose to Tsitsipas. No. And Medvedev advanced further at the AO. It just happened to turn out this way.I think Rafa is on the way to be on 3 or 4th spot before RG, to avoid the double match with Thiem/Djoker. At least an option to avoid Thiem. I don't believe he can pass both of them.
3 or 4 doesn't matter that much from 1-2. 5 makes a difference. Don't forget, Rafa drew Thiem at RG last Oct., but Thiem didn't make the date. So even ranked 2 he was theoretically going to run that gauntlet. If Thiem had drawn on the top half, Novak would theoretically have had to do a Thiem-Nadal double.I think Rafa is on the way to be on 3 or 4th spot before RG, to avoid the double match with Thiem/Djoker. Agree,I feel it is precautionary, also the travel from Spain to Mexico for one tournament? not worth it.I'm hoping this is precautionary to make himself ready for the clay season. It's a drag if he's really still having back issues.
With a back problem, hopefully it is not too serious.sinner withdrew ?..aww. young gunz not going for it this time then.
Well, Mexico leads into Miami, but with IW cancelled, I wonder if he'll bother with Miami, by your logic, and stay closer to home for the clay season.Agree,I feel it is precautionary, also the travel from Spain to Mexico for one tournament? not worth it.
I thought he was Marty McFly. Didn't watch it but both of those guys went downhill fast the last few years, having put up decent fights against the top guys before they faded away.Goffin( aka Obi Wan Kenobi ) wins Open Su fe France over RBA in 3 sets .. Congrats
I watched most of it. RBA started strong and up a break, but Goffin was playing some of his vintage tennis. Good to see him back to form. He's been unlucky with injuries. It was a pretty good match.I thought he was Marty McFly. That's what KS and Moxie refer to Goffin as..I always thought he resembles Ewan Mcgregor aka Obi Wan KenobiI thought he was Marty McFly. Didn't watch it but both of those guys went downhill fast the last few years, having put up decent fights against the top guys before they faded away.
That's KS, though Marty McFly makes me laugh. I tend to refer to him as David Goffin. I'm not really a fan of the goofy nicknames. It makes it hard for other people to know who we're talking about, and it's a bit "clubby."That's what KS and Moxie refer to Goffin as..I always thought he resembles Ewan Mcgregor aka Obi Wan Kenobi
