LOL, I didn't even know his coach left. That's hilarious. He had plenty to be grumpy about that day. Went in with no game plan whatsoever. I'm not buying that amazing Djokovic domination some people were posting here. He was there for the taking once Medvedev caught up in set 1 and he bottled it by not even forcing the TB and then after breaking in set 2 he gave it right back and lost the plot and played crap the whole remainder of the match and it wasn't all Djokovic at all. Medvedev's serving was dog shit.
It was soo obvious that Medvedev had no game plan in the final, you would have thought his coach would have gone through the tactics before the match, regardless if they had played before.

Andy Murray will take the next week off, expects wild cards for Dubai and Miami.

How long will they allow him to take up a spot in draws when more deserving players may be shortchanged due to their largesse at these tourneys? I can't think of many that have to see yet another senior defensive player out on the court!

Well Murray has won Miami masters twice before from memory, earlier in his career,at present he is working his way back into the tour.lets face it with one hip.,let us see what pans out for Murray this year,it will be up to him when he calls quits on his career.

I think Murray gets to play out his career on his own terms. He's earned that. I have no patience for Fiero who thinks this is either embarrassing or a waste of a WC. Murray is a better champion and player than most of the waste-of-space players out there.

I agree Murray deserves to play out his career and has earned that right.,got to admire him trying to come back on the tour, after 2 hip surgeries,he obviously loves the game.

Tsitsipas d. Hurkacz was a very good match. Good tennis from both, very tight.

I didn't see F. Cenundolo d. Paire in 3, but apparently Paire is going to get fined for lack of effort. What a head case.

EDIT: Meantime, I've seen some of the video. Paire complained about an ace call. Spat on the court, continued to argue with the chair and didn't even try to serve out his last game. On top of that, he called the AO a "sh*t" tournament after he lost in the first round. What a disgrace he is. Why don't you try to get a work ethic to go with your pop collar and hipster beard? It would be a better look.

Congratulations to Rublev with 20 consecutive wins at ATP 500 level defeating Fucsovics 76(4) 64 winning Rotterdam tournament
This is his fourth consecutive ATP500 title!
Rublev is definitely positioning himself to be the Next Gen to beat. Look out Medvedev, even. Rublev hasn't reached the heights yet, but he has consistency going for him, atm.

I love Rublev and have been following him for years - mrzz and I both tagged him as one of our favorite Next Genners a few years back. But as much as I like him, I don't know if he has the all-around game to be the "Next Gen to beat." To me he looks more like the next Berdych/Tsonga level player. Hope I'm wrong, though. I see him as a half-step below Medvedev/Tsitsipas, more comparable to Zverev (who seems to have been surpassed in the Next Gen category).

Plus, he has a real problem vs. Medvedev. 0-4 so far, hasn't even won a set.

To me, he's just the Next Gen to beat for now. I don't expect any of them to turn into Federer, Nadal or Djokovic. They're, at best, going to take turns doing well, and Rublev is having a very good run right now.

AR is the most consistent of the next Gen. I think Daniil Medvedev is still the most talented one. I was very disappointed in DMs lack of focus at AO. That being said, I expect Rafa will be laser focused at RG and it's gonna take someone who is willing to DIE on those courts to defeat him. The NEXT real test for everyone is Wimbledon. Novak will be the favorite, Fed will most like give about 5 grass court lessons and Rafa will be looking to get revenge for his past two 4 and 5 set losses. The US is the one that's really going to be up for grabs.

Big mouth/tiny brain, and no more talk of FAA being multi slam elite all timer anymore? Dimwit.

Federer will play Dan Evans in his comeback match tomorrow at 15:00 / 3pm GMT. Evans played today and beat Chardy and has to play again tomorrow. The privilege of being off 14 months and still getting a bye to the second round. Evans is good to watch and trained with Federer in Dubai. Could be a good one. Expect Roger to win this one and quite possibly lose to Coric in the 1/4 final as Coric has given him trouble even before he was off tour this long. Plays a lot of sharply angled shots and will make Roger run a good bit. If he manages to make it past Coric ('cos I doubt Jaziri is beating Coric), he'll face Goffin or Shapovalov and potentially Rublev or Thiem in the final if he miracously makes it this far. Pretty tricky draw for a 250, let alone his first tournament back.
