This event probably just overtook the Adria tour as the worst organized sports spectacle. Definitely will win the covidit award of the year
You seem to have failed to realize how COVID-free Australia is, and how much they are respecting protocols. Keep trying to let Novak off the hook for the Adria tour. In any case, the year is young.

Of the four,
My question is with Meds, which “one” will show up.
He's on a pretty good win streak since winning the WTF. If he doesn't "show up," he is going to have to start kissing his bigger dreams goodbye.

So was Serbia during the time the Adtia Tour was organized. The average number of cases in the 2 weeks before the tour was 0. Djokovic respected all protocols in Serbia

I am not letting Novak off the hook for that debacle but I also am not going to praise the Australian Open when both of them did the same thing and are having the same issues

The bolded above is patently untrue. Here is the Wikipedia entry for cases in that period of time. Adria was in Serbia 13-14 June. On 31 May, there had been 243 deaths, and there were 11,412 cases. You may not agree with these numbers, but they were far from "zero." Also, as you can see from this entry, there was a noticeable spike in cases from 10 days after 14 June. I know Djokovic made a big argument that he followed his country's protocols, but they were not at all what anyone else was doing in exhibition tennis at the time. I'll give you that it was fairly early in the pandemic, but there were lots of examples of how to be more cautions.

What Tennis Australia is doing is vastly different. It's much later in the pandemic, so a lot has been learned, in fairness. There has been a great deal of precaution observed, and protocols are strict...to the point of a fair few players complaining about them. Bringing people in from outside of Australia was a risk, and it has brought a few cases, but I'm wondering what you think they've done that is so egregious in terms of managing precautions as to the virus and containment?

Good to see JoWillieTs playing today again. He definitely has a long way to go to reach his typically great level to be able to compete at the highest level. Hopefully he can have a good 1 to 3 years left on his career.

Rough one for Murray. Be lucky to win 4 games and VERY lucky to win 6.
He's got to get past Gerasimov, which is about to start, and he's sort of tricky.

Probably time for poor Murray to just hang his racquet up.

Gerasimov wasn't an easy first match back. I only watched a little, but he looked pretty good. Give it some time for the rust to fall off.

I think people, including Murray himself, have been saying that long enough tbh. He was lucky to escape a 2nd set bagel.

I’m betting Wimbledon will WC Murray for a farewell dance, but this year is make or break otherwise for Andy.

It was embarrassing today! This kid really didn't use his top game; literally toying with Murray in the 2nd set, dropshotting the old guy! It was sad!

Murray is one match into a comeback. You know what's sad, old man? It's you, grumping endlessly from your Barcalounger, remembering, and not quite accurately, the old days. Why don't you give Murray a chance before you declare this "embarrassing?" What's embarrassing about it? He's working on a comeback. Are we all so small and punitive that we can't give a man a chance to rehabilitate?
