I like hearing P-Mac talking about people complaining about moon balls, and saying, "That's not tennis." And P-Mac saying, "Yes, it IS tennis. Get used to it."

If Medvedev is going to play like this, he can't afford to miss. He has been missing too much so far this match. And I don't know what happened there, at all.

I don't mind that Medvedev plays defensively for much of it, but he has to break it open sometimes. He's really going to have to put on his offensive hat.

Two sets to one Thiem. The one who hasn't been playing to his level, thus far, is winning. The one who hadn't dropped a set isn't finding his game. Up to this moment, I'd say the one with the champions mentality is winning. Not sure about this injury, though.

It would be a shame if Thiem is really injured and that's what causes him to lose...

Domi saw the trainer. If he's at all compromised, I can see him swinging for the fence. Med better be careful

Remember how Medevev was losing to Djokovic at Cincy last year and got more aggressive and went for broke? He's going to have to start playing more like that.

Props to Thiem for rising to the occasion tonight. He is seizing the moment. I have to admit I have never found his game particularly interesting and I didn’t watch any of his matches at the 2020 US Open until tonight, but to his credit he is locked in on taking advantage of the opportunity with Djokovic now out.

And Medvedev is showing the same flakiness and inconsistency that cost him the two matches against Nadal at the end of 2019. Standing that far behind the baseline has major pitfalls. But his shots while moving laterally are very impressive.

Never miss a moment to pretend that Medvedev had even better than a punter's chance in that match last year. :face-with-tears-of-joy:
